paint removal supplies?

what can I use to remove the paint in my engine bay/exterior of car. Im going to do paint job with my new gun using cheap paint. I heard air craft stripper works but wanted to hear if any one else had used it and if it worked good and waht you might need to do with it to trip the paint good. Anything else to remove the paint easy would be appriciated. thanks.

why do u need to strip it? is it peeling flaking? rust? if not you need to sand it and primer it, stripping it to metal is not needed. but yes air craft stripper will work, and make a nice mess, to bare metal, but is not usually needed.

yeah just sand and primer it and youll be ok. No need to make a big deal about it.

I ainted the car origionaly with spray paint so Im trying to figure out how to remove alot of the shit, And yes theis rust in some spots int eh engine bay. Thats why Iw as concideing using air craft stripper cus sanding the layers of spray paint off will suck and I want bare surface to work with. Also, I need to see and fix the rust sots in the bay. Do I just spray the stripper on and let the paint drip off and wipe with something abrasive? In my mine Im thinkikng Its like gonna be acid to paint and just come off right away, or am I wrong. Dose it need to sit ont eh aitn for a while?

how many quarts of paint will it take to paint my engine bay and outside of my car minus a front bumper?

id get a gallon, and the reducer, if its 1:1 that will give you 2 gals of sprayable material which will be more than enough.

the stripper will work almost instantly, read the directions and it will help, you will need to wipe it all off and wash it after tho, thoroughly

use an epoxy primer or a DTM primer over the bare metal
