what is it on? alittle more info would be very helpful in getting you a price together....I usually charge by the hour on airbrush work. 50/hr. Plus setup, base and clear time/materials.

so if your labor is 30$ what is 150.00 for? i do not understand? 150 in materials?

And when you get your name out, and get 100 times better than you are now, you will want to charge a fair price for your hard work, and you will not get it, why? because some one will be doing the same thing you are now, your Hook ups and undercutting don't really help anyone in the industry. I just hope you use good materials, and warranty your work. - Mike

Sorry I come off Harsh, you will understand why that is in a few years.

IM not freaking out just simply making a statement, infact I do not do any air brush what so ever, my 1st post was simply a joke.

I would also like to correct you, I am not an ass to new upcommers in the business im an ass to the people who think they can get their whole car painted RIGHT for 500 bucks and for it to last, and the like.

Im not talking bad about you, and im am sorry if you see it as that, i was just confused with your pricing, and wanted to know what materials you will be using. -Thanks Mike L:cool:

Also if you have any questions related to paint/Body work/ welding/ Please do not hesitate to ask, i would be glad to help you out if possible.

no biggie man, it sounded really harsh and i took affence to it lol, im saying im going to spray a whole car. just little things and if you take of a base coat clear coat, and if preformed correctly it can last years, i hate that people price their work so high making it impossible for the avarage joes to get a clean spray, and its a hobby that pays for my hobbies (cars, rc, motocross, airbrush...) so im can afford to get penuts for my work lol

thanks for the clearing up man!

I want to see a finished product....
idk if that was an asshole comment or not so im not going to say anything, but fyi it sounded asshole-ish, i told him when he gets the valve cover i'll buy the paints and spray something to show him, im not spending money on paints for it till i know he's coming through on his half, like you said im not making penuts on this so no im sticking my neck out, and you as a pro. (unless in REALL need of work) wouldnt even show him a preview.

i dont wanna bitch about it, so im taking it as a "i wonder if he's any good" thing

who the fuck do you think you are. I just simply wanted to see a final product. If you want to be a little prick about it then you sir can go fuck yourself. for some one that is trying to get into the industry you sure run your mouth. probably not a wise thing as this industry is very close nit and all techs in all shops talk with one another. FYI you need to work on your tact. It will come back to bite you in the ass....

If you are assuming that I am upset that you are doing this job....you have assumed wrong. You stated a much lower price and that is the way the game is played. I have many other projects going on at the moment so it really does not effect me at all. Acutally I was kind of glad to see an up and comer coming on here to start his career. But now I could not care less......

HAHAHA this is going to be funny hey is your clear duplicolor and is it heat resistant because normal clear can not go on a valve cover If you want it to work you need a good heat resistant clear like ceramaclear 8126 from PPG otherwise delamination will have your current customer become a real professionals current customer

ok first off, i used old enamel black and when i hit the final with a light spray of newer clearcoa(same brand and both mixed perfectly!) it wrinkled the black but not the woodgrain(thankgod) other than that b.s. it turned out good. after i finished but before the clearcoat mishap, i thought i might spray a nial head in each corner but desided not to sense i hadnt asked you, but i can if you want!

here it is...

it looks nice, but i think it looks like a closeup instead of like a plank. i was thinking about your nail design it would look cool if the cover looked like it was haggardly built out of wood with a bunch of bent nails.

ok tomorrow i'll tape it back in and spray some nails on it for you, making the grain smaller so it more like a 2x4 is no problem at all. on the valve cover its 3d so i can make it look WAY WAY more realistic, because the top would(no pun) be the rings, and the sides would(no pun) be lines off those following through like a real 2x4 is.

and if you want it to look haggardy i would airbrush in some chips likewhen you cut wood with a circular saw and it rips up the little peices on the end.

are you in though? if i get the valve cover i can check it out and plan it out, and draw up designs till i get one thats real good looking. i just kinda
freehanded that out real quick to get it to you, did you like the colors?

lmk cause i want you to really like it and not be upset that you spent 100$ and didnt get exactly what you want!

sweeeeeett!! hey did you use a projector for the wall? cause im thinking of printing out a black and white on a full sheet of paper then copying it over to a transparency and renting an old school projector.

A projector is a good tool for guidelines, but not precise by any means. When doing lettering, a level/straight edge is required if you want it to be flawless

oh yeah i know, it helps keep everything the right sizes so one turbo isnt bigger than other or something like that haha
