Put a beating on a Protege 5 while I was granny shifting not exceeding 3500rpm and giving the Slocus about 1/2 throttle. The poor Mazda was making some kind of buzzy/gurgle noise so I assume the guy was giving it all it had. I never thought those things were actually that damn slow.
Also raced some guy in a blue w/primer spots mid 90s Civic hatch. Looked like the car was gutted sounded pretty decent (i.e. not stock) and I did hear the VTEC kick in. We ran dead even.
