My car got keyed about a month ago and instead of painting it someone told me about a stick that detail shops have that you can rub over the scractch and it will fill it in to match the color of the car so you cant see it. Has anybody heard of this or know where I can get it at?
Thanks in advance.

I highly doubt that will work.....my car got keyed all the way down the passenger side....down to the metal.....had to have the whole thing repainted....but I spose its worth a try if youre into ghetto engineering. Let me know how it works if you go with that option.

i have seen this type of thing offered on tv. it is basicly a crayola that you rub off into the scratch and then you wax over it to hole the crayon on the void. bad things about that is your paint is probably not going to be the same as the one on the stick which means that will make for a big streak where the scrtach mark used to be.

i would suggest getting a professionsal car detailer to try and buff it out and last resort would be a good wet sanding. if that doesnt work then get someone to key the damn thing again and pay your dedeuctable for a nice shiny paint job.

well its all the way down to the metal so theres nothing to buff out. I have the money from the insurance to get it fixed but i really want to use the money for something else but im gunna try the crayon thing any way to see if it works. Its worth a try.
thanks

I have the Turtle Wax Color Match stuff......that has the scratch stick that comes with it.......I thought perhaps that would hide some of the small little scratches.....so I head to Pep Boys.....shell out $8 for it....take it home.....bust it out.....and lo and behold....I just got raped up the ass for $8.....that shit didnt do a damn thing....think it made the scratches look worse.....so it does indeed seem that a repaint is in order for you my friend.

well---one thing you can do is---get the paint color from the dealership---(touch up paint)---fill it all in ----lightly wetsand--then buff it---it will look decent if you do this---but the real way would be to feather it out----spot paint the area---yada yada---that costs alot and in a few months it could show unless you get a good painter----and even a good painters work will usually show up after a while------unless you get the whole car repainted--------id just use the touch up paint-----

well if i just get my whole car painted which Id rather do than just paint one half. Where would be a good paint shop to go to at a decent price?
