Default B series rebuild question

Today one of my honda friends was talking about throwing out some of his old B series blocks. I don't like to see anything go to waste so i jump right on it and throw them in the back of my mother's town and country. Point being I now have 2 b series blocks (B18a1 and B18b1) with "teh knock" and are seized somethin' ugly. My question is about the B series in general, I have heard people say everything is compadable. I'm looking to go low boost with one of these so what would a good piston be. Should i just go with a good headgasket, headstuds, and the LS pisons and build it back to stock? I'm so lost.

are you building non-vtec or vtec?
there is alot of options, you may want to consider, you could go type-R piston and rods with a gsr girdle and if your going vtec go with the type-R or gsr oil pump and water pump if not the stock ls is fine, are you doing any cams like skunk2 or anything high performance or is it a budget build? lots of options!!!!

92z71 is right, you have alot of options, depending on your power goals and price range. If you're only wanting to go low boost, depending on what your definition of that is, you would be fine with the stock pistons, a good cometic headgasket, and arp head studs/rod bolts.

Thank you. I only want like 7psi so cometic headgasket and arp head studs. Ill just go with stock pistons. I am going to try to make an ariel atom clone so it may take awhile.

If it has a knock you need to rebuild the motor first. Need a new crank have it align bored, and get all new bearings is a start.

really depends on the extent of the damage... I really wouldnt align bore it unless absolutely neccesarry, just to avoid the trouble of finding proper sized bearings... Just take it apart and see what the damage is and go from there...wont really know until you get your hands dirty...

The engine is completely apart - cylinder 4 had the knock. I already honed the cylinder walls, and the bearing on it was spun (or at least i think so it was charred alittle). The block looks good at least and it really just needs new bearings, rods, and a head. I'm pretty new to building engines so idk much. I got the FSM so that should help
