Sorry this is so long but please read through all of this and give me any feedback or suggestions you might have.
I spoke with Alan this morning and he was of course very pleased with the turnout given the overall weather situation. This weeks race (10/5) should be great ! The weather should be very good / cool / dry. All condusive to good E.T.s so be there ! And for all of those who posted that they got there last week only to find a empty track please call ahead before you drive out. (1-941-748-1320)
I noticed quite a few posts in other threads mentioning most people only got 1 or 2 runs I mentioned this to Alan. But please remember the track was only open for 2 hours before it rained ! There was little to no breakdowns or delays other than when the rain started. So if you stay the entire time you will get in several runs dont worry. I mentioned to Alan maybe they could open four staging lanes to cut down on the traffic going into the pits. He will look at it. Overall the feedback seems to be good from everything I see and the event will only get better over time.
Just make sure that you and everyone you know understands that for this race to continue on a regular basis everyone will HAVE TO mind there manners to and from the track as well as at the track. I saw a lot of people driving like dumbasses especially in the rain heading back to the interstate. If we create a problem on 64 (road leading to the track) before and after these races Alan and the track are going to catch heat from the locals. So mind your manners please ! :) I hope to see another big turnout this weekend and please be safe.

I hope it works out this weekend. I was on my out last weekend but only made it to the Hess gas station. Since it was raining I just stopped to get gas and turn around. I noticed lots of people hanging out there and I dont think the gas station was too happy. When I left I noticed some fool in a white 240SX (?) behind me [purposely] doing a fishtail turning onto 64. Real bright. Im just glad he was behind me.

I am glad you mentioned that. I noticed everyone hanging out at the Hess station as well. If we piss them off I am sure they will get the cops out there patrolling on the nights we have races and then we are back to square one with the police harassing us. So if everyone makes a effort to use some common sense to and from the track I think this event will happen on a pretty regular basis.

I think the turnout will be huge again for this friday. I do agree that they need to open up 4 staging lanes. The damn line was stretching back past the entrance. My car started to overheat waiting in line. Damn I need a fan. ;)

Isnt that what normally happens at the street races? It will just make them more realistsic. No In seriousness I have to agree there were alot of people hanging out at the hess station that shouldnt have been.

no shit about the dipshit driving.
i couldnt believe those morons were passing us in the
rain. . for people that werent there there was a truck and a
car following the truck that blasted past a whole group of
cars (like 10 cars) all at once. I was flabbergasted-
personally i was driving white-knuckled since i was so hell
bent on not shooting my car off the road. Look at one of our
members- he was doing the speedlimit on 75 and just
suddenly lost control and spun a 720. Now image if that
happened with a truck next to a train of 10 cars.
Im all for natural selection- let the fucking idiots kill
themsleves- but dont endanger my white ass doing it. . . .

OK - time for another After 1320: Stupid Drivers story. I was on the Interstate with 3 cars following me out to a resteraunt. I was driving SLOW because it was RAINING and cars were in the ditch everywhere. SO this 4 door Civic pulls next to me and does the pace and throttle throb for like 10 minutes. You would think he GOT IT the FIRST TIME I stepped on the brakes that I DIDNT WANT TO RACE HIM.......BUT NO! He jsut kept on doing it and later he ended up getting harrased by SEVERAL other drivers on the road.
Please guys lets keep it safe this time. Lets not ruin our chances of having a GREAT time on Friday by getting hurt for being stupid!

Please drive safely out there guys I dont want to see anymore
cars spinning off the road cause they want to drive like Mario Andretti.

im not trying to cause trouble with any boards but fordman please post ur initial post (emphasizing the last paragraph about the be good on 64 and keep the locals happy) on the 3rd shift boards. i know theyre all cool with me usually but given theyre the type of crowd that is interested in racing afterhours also let them know to be good until they get out of the area. this will assure that all groups have been informed and cant say they werent warned.
maybe the regulators can regulate on the highways too :D
and im sure the badrap guys that show are probably smart enough to know this since i know theyre always good about cruisin.
EDIT: i have no problem with the groups that want to participate in illegal street racing after this event (tho i dont know why---this is why were having this event in the first place). that is their choice just dont plan on doing it in the general vicinity of i75/sr64 and the track. sure its in BFE and would be a good spot with no traffic but i probably wont make it to this one im not sure yet but i will have words with anyone who tries to lose this privelige for the rest of us.

I do not currently communicate with anyone on Badrap or 3rd Shift so I can not help you there. I know a few people over there and that is about it. I could care less about people having a somewhat organized street race or seceret spot. I personally outgrew that years ago but if people want to do it that is there business. I just do not want anyone from any board or club to ruin this event for the rest us by driving like a bunch of idiots like Taylor mentioned he had witnessed earlier. I was in front of Taylor when that a**hole blew by 10 of us in the pouring rain on the wrong side of the road ! If you want to kill yourself or get caught street racing please just dont do it in the vicinity of the track. Thanks....
Now with that said lets all go have a good / safe time this Friday night and lets keep the off track B.S. to a minimum.

I agree. I thought they said they were going to play something that appealed to most of the crowd.

haha they should just put it on 93.3 or something. friday nights has that techno club mix stuff. it will be like fast and the furious :haha: or just put it on 97.1 or 97.9 something with a good rock tune. rock is good for adrenaline and racing (at least for me) HARDCORE!

I really dont care for techno stuff but christ enough of the best of the 70s CD I hear EVERYTIME I go there at a volume that is less than amusing.

O.K. O.K. O.K.. Enough with the music I will pass along your requets. I think 98 Rock has some weird stuff on late on Friday nights so maybe 102.5 or the local rock channel out of Sarasota.

You got it. But remember majority rules. I will speak for all that have posted here and see what I can do. Make sure you all come lookin for me Friday night so I can put some faces with screen names. I am bringing down my wifes grocery getter which is a Silver 2000 Taurus SE with dark tint. I am certain I will be the only one with a Taurus there. I have messed with a few things on it to see if I can get it into the 15s. I do not have a picture to post of myself but stop by and say hello if I am in the staging lanes or b.s. ing with someone. I am Marks brother (marksaccord95). I will be the one busting his a** if he doesnt decide to spray me ! See all of you there.

I dont listen to techno (I like hardcore) but I think the techno on 93.3 or 98.7 would be the best bet. The other stations are solid commercials and during the techo Im assuming the commercials are limited or nonexistant.
As for crazy drivers: whatever jackass was following me on the road from the track to 75 deserves an ass kicking. It was either a prelude or 240 or similar car with long flat headlights and it had blue bulbs. It and another car were turning their headlights off and driving in the dark and getting in the left lane with oncoming traffic (and no headlights). Not like any old ladies were walking to their mailboxes that late but its still a stupid thing to do and if you had gotten any closer to my bumper you would have seen brakelights and had a nice lawsuit against you.
I think the police should line up on the road to keep people from driving like idiots.
