Bought the MKV GTI
I think I got a sweet deal. 2007 with 7500
miles. Also a certified used car so I get 24,000 miles added to 50k warranty. Sweet. It has the better ground effect option and the 18's. I paid $21,000. I'm excited about it.

I wish more people got mk5 5-doors. looks like a good canvas to start with.
I'm gonna keep the wheels unless I Can find some nice grey ones with machined lips. Do the suspensions for our cars ride bad? I'm not gonna sacrifice comfort for looks as this car is more for function.

I installed the European GTI springs on my wife's Rabbit (suspension now feels the exact same as the GTI I had test driven in the past). It has a nice firm feel without being too harsh. It sits just low enough to set it apart from the early MKV GTIs and Rabbits yet doesn't sit low enough to catch the front lip on parking stops. I believe the US GTI recieved these same springs as a mid year production change for the 2007 GTI. It may be something worthwhile for you to look into if you don't want to sacrifice daily driver comfort.
Have fun with the new GTI. If you ever decide to sell those wheels...please shoot me a PM.
