alright, well my gf has a mazda 6, 4cyl. 66k miles, new alt, battery, starter etc etc
The problem is the battery light is on, I've disconnected the cables, cleaned them with a wire brush, cleaned the terminals with a wire brush too. tightened everything on good, reset the ECU etc. but the light is still on.
the car drives fine, starts up fine, idles great etc etc. the light is just on, anyone have any ideas? I'll go to autozone to pull the code if I have too, but I'm kinda lazy right now and I got other shit to do lol.
any ideas?
Alt to ground?
Make sure to retest at an advanced auto or somewhere. Test the battery by using a multimeter. Then charge the car overnight so the battery is at 100%.
Reconnect battery to car the next morning. Should be fine.
Make sure that all the cables are bolted down properly, stiff, and secure on UN-painted metal. Slather with dielectric grease to prevent corrosion.
Take to dealer or somewhere to figure out wtf is going on after that if you cannot figure it out.

I checked all the cables, they are all stock/factory grounds, this car in 100% stock lol.
I guess I'll try charging it. but the actually battery isent the problem I dont think. it starts up fast. lights dont dim or anything. but we will see lol. Im going to take it to autozone in a couple minutes.

Change out stock locations. Stock sucks anyways and 95% of the time when you run your own wire to more optimized locations with better and thicker wire, you WILL see increase in efficiency, extremely slight in mpg and very slight in HP/TQ.
by the way, the factory batteries suck. They really dropped the ball when putting those bitches in. Had a coworker with an '04 or '05 6s, before she got a new '08 3 4door, she had to change out the battery once.

alright, changed out the battery, and checked the alt.
it was the alt going bad from the battery terminals being lose over like 3 months.
so they wouldent let me put in a new alt. so they paid a shop almost 500 bucks to do it. and it wasent even a brand new alt. either.

Lol. nice.
Putting in an alt is easy. I pretty much did it by myself on my old POS altima. 145 bucks later...
Oh well, at least problem solved.
