Do vertical/horizontal end tanks make any difference in performance?

This is a direct fit for me and would be much easier...

As long as the cubic foot of air flow is the same, it shouldn't matter.

Technically speaking, its not the optimal IC to use. Only half of it is getting the majority of the boost. But I do know that 034 motorsports makes amazing products, so its safe to say go for it.
