A bit bored, so I thought I'd go back and share my VW lottery winning wish list. If everybody follows suit it might give a few some ideas :dunno:
Keeping the A2 Jetta Chassis, and the 16v
Importing and sacrificing a European A2 4dr Golf Synchro (namely for the drivetrain, although the driveshaft tunnel and elevated trunkboard to allow fuel tank clearance wouldn't hurt any). Quaife LSD should replace factory.
Now that traction isn't a problem I'd want to go for a 95.5mm knife edged stroker crank from eurospecsport/bildon or autotech with some 84mm forged 8.0:1 pistons. A BBM Lysholm (unsilenced) should push enough. I think Digi I should be adequate, megasquirt or Tec if otherwise.
Only problem I'd see would be keeping the 50mm manifold (pass. side TB inlet) and an intercooler w/o 300ft. of piping.
I've seen this chassis re-constructuring done with a VR on an A2 Jetta, but never on a twin screw 16v. :D
I'd also want to find a rallye front end; and modify/create the equivalent versions of the fenders/arches for the Jetta.
I suppose you could ask...With all the expense and if you already won the lottery, why not just pony up the extra $ for...

...especially considering it would look nearly identical with exception to badging and a certain triangular shape on the grill. To that I say...
bah!
My way would be cooler
