Im trying to lift my ext cab short bed 2000 chevy silverado 9" front 6" rear. I am going to get 3-3 out of that with a body lift so basically 6" front 3" rear suspension.

I have a 3-3 suspension kit now. 3" lift springs 3" blocks. I got it today its in the box I dont want to put it on till I know how and what I am doing.

If I put these springs on the front I was told stock shocks will work for a little bit on 3" but its better to get new ones asap is that true? If so is it possible to use stock shocks for temp on 6" lift too?

Also how can I get the other 3" of lift suspension wise in the front? I was thinking spring spacers, but will that work. If I got 6" lift shocks could I do 3" springs and 3" spring spacers, and that be all I need to do, or is there other things that come in play like camber or any relocating or anything?

Also if any1 has a body lift kit or spacers let me know.

dude your stock shocks should work for the 3 inches but will need to be replaced and you wont be able to use them for the 6 inch and for the other 3 inches the only thing i can find is a 2 inch spacer for a leveling kit but fabtech makes a 3 inch spindle kit or you can buy the complete kit that is 7 in the front and 6 in the back

Actually the stock stocks wont work on a 3" system. The shocks act as the travel limiter in the front suspension as there are no bumb stops on a 2wd GM. What size tire are you looking to clear? IF you look under the thread created by ar_audio we installed an setup the lift for his 06 Crew cab silverado. Stock tire size was the equivalent of a 28" tall tire. We ended up with a little 5" of lift in the front an a 3" block in the rear. IT all depends on what tire you plan on trying to run. The backspacing of the wheel plays a major roll on what tire you can clear with no trimming. If have any questions or would like me to setup a reasonably priced setup just let me know. info is in the sig.

On ar-audio's crew cab we had to do some clearencng beccause the use of a 18x10" wheel, an a 33x12.50 Toyo M/T.

Stock shocks will not work on a 3" lift. They barely fit on a leveling kit. Like above use the Fabtech Spindles I do them all the time....

i ended up doing 4" spindles and 2" coil spacers and 2" blocks and 3" body lift making 9"-7". I was told the spindles dont effect the shocks at all. And the spacer is only 1" tall even though it lifts 2" so its like only a 1" increase to the shocks in the front thats what I was told. Now as far as the back I got lift shocks that are like 3" or something. ill post up pics when i get it installed

ok....

i'll ask again ... why lift a 2wd truck?

its like tubbing out a mustang and running a narrowed ford 9in and never taking it to the track

just remember what ever you do in the the font for suspension it should be half that for the rear.

calm down there... for fuck sakes!

i never said anywhere that you were going to "mud" i'm just saying its a waste of money... the money you spend on a "lift" and be sent on engine/turbo upgrades... thats all...

relax dude...
