I still need to start getting all the stuff for the EDC..I am NOT going to use the compressor, tank or valves...I do have 6 SMC 3/8's & I still need 2 more RE8's..

Why aren't you using the compressor or tank?

but you will still need a tank. you may be able to take that one off that setup and just use it. it will save you $50 of buying another one. is that one of those AIM plug and play kits? also what link is that? looks like a KP. I can tell just by looking that it uses the factory spring perches. be careful dragging, becasue the link bars are usually the first things to go. unless you get the fix kit from suicidedoors. you will however be very happy with the ride quality of that setup with the re8's on a lever. my buddy has them on his SD 5link with shortened lift bars. he gets 14" of lift(limited by shocks) at about 50 psi. and he rides with the rollpan about 1" off the ground and even going over the roughest roads he never bottoms out. that truck rides sooo smooth. 8's are tough to fit in the front. can be done, but it will be ALOT of cutting. I'm running 7's on mine without any complaints. locks out the arms at 90 psi, and ride great with the front anywhere but locked out. good luck with it and keep us posted with the progress and any problems you run into, or questions you have

its either a York or sanden A/c compressor converted to pump air like an air compressor, alot of off road guys run these as well as mini truckers, instead of using electric compressors, the belt from the engine drives the compressor! - mike

Out of the two brands you mentioned, which is the best, and why?

I prefer the York 209 mini or 210, because they are more common, easier to work on with parts aviability, and they have a oil sump, and essentially work like a regular shop air compressor, where as a sanden 508 does not, you have to run it like a Normal A/c compressor and use the PAG oil in it, although i believe it can pump to a higher pressure.
