So, I'm either gonna look for another store to get pictures printed or just crop them at home, I've never really cropped a picture at home by inches and brought it in to the store to get it printed.

I've had multiple shots which I wanted printed in 8x10 ruined.

Well yesterday I went to get some prints, not even for myself but for someone else so I decided to see how the picture will look in 8x10 before even printing so I don't waste money, so I hit magnify/crop and the picture is cut off on one side by a little line which represents the edge of the photograph (8x10.) So I try to use the crop tool on their piece of shit editor and I couldn't expand it anymore, so I rotate the crop maybe thinking it would go longer and still nothing.
So I'm extremely annoyed after making the poor girl work on the pictures for 30+ minutes I got the print done at some shit like 8x12 and the 4x6's I wanted that also gave problems were like 4x8's.

Maybe she's just a noob, or I'm just picky and people don't care having their prints cut, but if she could use the computer she had inside I'm sure she could have moved the photograph into the frame, just a small amount of resizing and movement could have gotten the whole photograph into the desired size.

Yeah Walgreens and CVS are really consumer grade, especially when you get into using their kiosk setups. Mail order places are really the way to go, try elcocolor.com

I've done a few 'need quick' prints at CVS and I've never had a problem with them. I always use the 'do-it-youself' one that rints right then and there.

My gf's mom goes there all the time to get old family pictures reprinted (from the civil war etc) and they really do a good job in cleaning them up. Are they expensive?

I prefer CVS after experimenting with my local pharmacies...

I recommend that you size\crop your images before printing in photoshop (or other preferred photo tool) to desired size (8x10, 5x7, etc...)
