Good theme. Too much normalcy shown in this forum :)

jblaine: I agree, my other ideas were sunset, and nature/natural beauty. Figured those would be easy to go shoot, and wanted something to give a challenge and out of the norm.

I think its pretty simple, just shoot something you feel is "abstract" or not normal, you get to be creative and shoot what you want. If it makes me scratch my head, and tilt it like a dog does when it hears a strange noise then you're on the right track...

That's a funny reference, but I think everyone will understand it.

Man I took this a month or two ago for a circles assignment on DPS. Was thinking I could have used it for this theme... But now that I look at it, I realize I could have done better with it since it now looks a bit noisy with my monitor calibrated.

Why isn't it a vote anymore? I mean everyone has different tastes, especially with a theme like this.

How much post processing are we allowed on this? Yes I read the rules, and since I found nothing on the matter I thought I'd ask.

The use of filters can really make for some neat abstract effects. So would spot processing... maybe those should not be allowed to maintain the challenging aspect of the assignment.

Yeah, I think the subject matter of/in the picture is what needs to be abstract, not the effects you "add" to the picture

lol i'm still looking for one, but i think everyone either doesn't participate anymore or just keeps everything under wraps till the end of the contest so people dont steal ideas/try and one up them, which is dumb

I can NOT come up with anything for this contest..
just shoot anything. random pictures that may or may not have any good composition, could turn out to be nice and abstract!
