Is this a fairly reputable company? I can get a deal on a wet kit for the Focus for $410 for the total kit and the Gen-X kit (safety stuff) for $224. What are your thoughts? Worth it or not?

i dont know anybody with a nx kit but all kits are pretty much the same thing (besides zex) they all have pretty much the same components and setups with different names on them. as far as being worth it or not any nitrous kit is damn worth the money.

Im just trying to avoid a mishap due to improper equipment. A guy on the board had a brand new NOS kit installed on his car at a reputable shop. It turns out one of the solenoids was bad from the factory and the entire engine bay caught on fire during a test run causing about $2000 in damages.

How essential would you think the blow-off cap and blow down tube will be? The Gen-X kit includes these along with a bottle heater guage and fuell pressure safety switch. Is this a good safety investment or would I just be wasting my money?

the blow down is essential since you have a hatch back you dont want to be driving and get gassed as for the solenoids they all eventually go bad but the only real danger would be that they could fail while your driving and kick in the nitrous by accident. your freinds car catching fire must have been something else done to it even if the solinoid does fail the nitrous and fuel should still be contained inside the engine. i mean im not sure i cant say i know every case but i dont think solenoid failure is usually that bad. - as far as the pressure guage and the bottle heater they are a definite need if you want your system to work well. ;)

Thanks for the information.

Im still split on the decision on whether or not to go with nitrous. In order to properly get fuel for any of the wet kits the stock fuel rail needs to have a schrader valve or something for fuel delivery. Because of this it will be difficult to return to stock if something happens.

I may actually wait for the ZEX kit to come out for the Focus in another few months. The install is very easy and requires no permanent modifications.

The Venom kit is the same way but there is no way in hell that I am paying over a grand for nitrous kit.

THE ZEX KIT FOR THE HONDA SHOULD WORK OR THE MUSTANG KIT THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE JETTING SIZES. EVERYTHING ELSE IS EXATLY ALIKE. I TALKED TO THE ZEX TECH GUYS MYSELF TO GET THAT INFO SO I KNOW ITS TRUE.

The Focus has a very unique fuel system from what the ZEX guys told me. Just about everyone in the aftermarket has hit a stumbling block with forced induction when it comes down to fuel management. The best cure is from Pectel for a mere $2000.

whats pectel???---------- nx just came out with a kit for the new mustangs that have a return-less fuel system(however that works) is that what you have?
