Default Questions about graphics after base???

Ok,I got another fender prepped and ready to paint this weekend.Fixed about 20 or so dings, blocked with 320 then wet sanded with 400(thanks for the advise guys) Now, I want to do some hand painted graphics and airbrushing on this one,so my question is,should I clear it after base then scuff, do the graphics then reclear,or do the graphics before clearing?I've read up a little but can find any definete answer. Thanks again TR painters for you expertise.

if you're going to do any graphics, i would go ahead and base, clear, scuff, layout your graphics. what brand of paint are you using? if you are using House of Kolor, and after you've cleared and scuffed, you can us HOK SG100 which is an intercoat clear. it is a base coat with no dye in it. do you tape outs and graphics, spray SG100 over that (it will help eliminate the tape lines, to an extent). the SG100 is NOT a final clear...it is for protecting the artwork.

any other questions, feel free to PM me

Global has an intercoat clear as well for the same purpose. Actually its a blending product but I have a friend who has been using it for a while to do flames and such.

Thanks guys, got it painted today,I'll give it a couple days before I scuff it to do the graphics.I'm prolly gonna use HOK airbrush paints so I'll pick up some intercoat clear why I'm there. We used to use something simular when I was in art school to seal our work.
