OK, I was in a jam, needed a car with good gas mileage for a trip up north, and the only way to get one in time was to loan my friend my STi. Now, this friend has been respectful with everything of mine in the past, and has earned his salt. Well, this turned out to be a mistake. I'm kind of anal retentive about my vehicles (especially the STi), so this is killin me... here's the list:

Blown clutch
Blown battery (finally came back to life)
Small dents in the trunk
Soda can exploded inside
Badly scraped/cracked up front lip
Dirty as sin

The moral of the story? I'm an idiot, and you should never EVER give your STi to anyone, not even those who've earned your trust. lol...

I would not even let me WIFE borrow my car for more then a hour.
That really sucks what happened and if he was a true friend he would make it right, but it really should of never happened at all.

g/l to you

it seems like frank is still being nice to this kid... the car is now stored in my garage for safe keeping until the new clutch comes in.. there are dents under the driver door, trunk, and a few other spots that im too drunk to remember.. keep in mind that Frank is the most anal retentive person with his car that i've ever met, and the body and paint were BETTER than new before he let this guy borrow the car. but anyways, atleast smack this kid around a little. lol. ..... or i'll work him over for a fee.

I would have driven the STi! Paying a little more for gas in my eyes is worth more than saving a few bucks then coming home to deal with some one who f'd up my STi and having to pay even more to fix it.
Esp if the guy is not willing to help fix the problems he caused.

damn man, sorry to hear. i hope he forks out the cash to replace everything. I only let 3 people ever drive my car and one of them was Scott Siegel. My good friend i grew up with never got a chance. So, anyway, starting pricing things out and give him the dirty

thanks guys... I'm not going to bash his face in, but I am going to make my STi perfect again. I won't be able to get a dime out of him for anything, plus he's just going to tell me that he doesn't know how it happened (and most of the dents likely happened from someone else while in his care). I'll be back with a vengeance soon.... and a stg 3 clutch :)

I was really more interested in keeping the miles off of it, the tires, the clutch, the oil, etc. I was replacing the clutch anyway, so this just sped it up I guess.

Come on you should have known something would happen.

ONE - it's an sti
TW0 - it's not his!

Now if you try to sell it, whenever, you might have to say it was [pushed pedal to the medal 24/7] <- forget the so-called term.:D

But if you "traded" cars and he did all that to the more expensive car of the trade, have him do labor or something. Don't just lolly-gag around it and say okay it won't happen again!

What does his car look like? We'll return the favor!:D

Haha, while I'd like to have him do the work.... he's not touching my damn car again!!!! And without lolly-gagging (<--you never realize how stupid a word that is until you type it in present-tense) it will NOT happen again

Wow Frank, I'm sorry to hear this:( I don't personally know the feeling, so I can only imagine. My best friend from college drives an old-school Cadillac Brougham and has only let 2 people drive his car except himself: his father and me. He is a perfectionist about his caddy, having now put about $6,000 over the course of 3 years into it just to maintain original luster (chrome, steel, leather, etc.). When I get back in town, I will be happy to help in any way I can.

PS Can't wait to see your STi + SB clutch!!! Just give me a chance to get the APS R1 3" catted TBE...

Wow what a crappy friend you have. He should atleast own up to the dents and cracks in the lip and clean your car. He really does need a good beat down. It won't have to be from you just point him out to us!
