Exclamation iPod and Factory Headunit

Has anyone tried any of Peripheral Electronics devices for hooking up iPod to factory head unit? I am looking into getting one, but want some feedback. I'm going to continue to do some research. I thought my only option was FM transmitter or after market head unit.

That's a pretty vague question.

LOGIC? You seriously want to invoke logic in a conversation about fake hijackings, missiles hitting the pentagon, and bombs planted throughout the world trade center? I thought it was a given that logic was checked at the door when entering one of these threads.

Lol how so? Peripheral electronics manufactures aftermarket ipod adapters for use with stock head units.

I had one but never installed it so i cant tell you. I just ended up with a pioneer headunit and ipod adapter.

The Peripheral pieces work well however they are a little expensive depending on the kit just to integrate with a factory system. Most customers anymore just spend a couple extra bucks and get an aftermarket head unit with iPod capabiities if their factory unit is nothing special (no navigation, CD changer, etc).

Thanks for the replies, I got one answer that i figured I would share incase any one else was wondering.

"In my shop I have recently switched to the Peripheral electronics pieces because of there accesability and quality of use.

Also I am pretty sure that they will not work with the Generation 6 Ipod's yet. Then again nothing is working with the Gen 6 Ipod yet as far as control of it through your headunit goes that is.

As far as interface pieces go Peripheral is absolutly the top of the line right now and has been for a while.

They are actually intertwined on a corporate level and part swapping level with the makers / owners of brands such as Viper Alarms, Stinger Accesories and more top of the line brands within the 12 volt industry."

Going to keep researching, deciding what I want to do

I just realized that "peripheral electronics" was a brand, not just a description of what they were looking for . I thought they just capitalized it weird or something...

Kinda like asking "hey, has anyone tried using usb devices with their PC, does it work? i thought all i could use was usb mice".

My fault.

if you have to wait for a direct connect option for your headunit, go for it. Nothing beats straight up cable connections vs a radio solution.

I still have an Aux-in adapter that i bought back in December that I have not yet installed in my car. it would basically give me the same thing you're looking for your car. For some reason I can't find the willpower to take my dash apart.
