Official Subaru Drag @ BMP 5/15, Thursday Test-n-Tune

This thursday we're going to see how many subarus we can get racing down here in Bradenton Motorsports Park 1/4 mile drag... there will be a pre-meet meeting/lunch @ my house which is pretty much right across the street from the track. we already have 5+ members from FloridaSubarus.com who will be in attendance so lets make this big!!

when i get home from work i'll make a map of where my house is and i'll make a sign to put out on SR-64 so that everyone can find it.

however, my house is HIDDEN from the road and the mailbox is tiny so i will post up a BIG sign in front of my mailbox that says "SUBARU MEET"

basically when you get off at exit 220 and head east you will get to a part of the road where theres a bunch of construction and the road down to two lanes each way, then the constuction ends and the road goes back to one lane each way... THIS is when you need to start looking for the sign on the left side of the road.

If you pass a big Pepsi sign on the right or if you get to BMP, you'll gone too far, lol. my # is 9416157766 if you get lost hit me up. the chicken will go on the grill @ 6:30 so be here by 7 or eat cold chicken if theres any left.

no, i had to drive Frank and his girl back home and i'm actually just getting home now(2am). please dont take any disrespect... thats just an amazing time bro! sounds like gadiel has got his shit together! i might have to set something up with Gadiel &/or BVP to figure out what is keeping my car from better times.. I understand that im not the best driver and i dont claim to be but it seems like my car has much more potential.

oh and we definatly have to set something like this up again, it was a blast and made me feel great to see all the Subarus in attendance. :thumbup:

chris dont be too dissapointed. There is alot of time to be made up in the launch. When I went out with the 30R the first time I went 13.0's @ 106. I then got my launch a little better and the same night I went 12.5@117. its hard to tell the cars potential just by looking at numbers from your first time at the track.
However if you do feel that your launch is good then you are down on power.

if a car has a total value of under $10k they should make them get a pre-tech inspection so that they don't have to shut down the track for an hour every time some shitty honda blows up and finishes driving down the entire track laying oil.

Chris- no offense taken...... I have to post up the slip anyway because I am going to put it on nasioc, so I will just link it here also. I agree with Scott also......your time will decrease drastically when you get a better launch.........for instance, on the run that I ran against you and had a shitty launch- 1.9 60ft my car ran 12.7, when I did a 1.6 I ran the 12.4. However, the thing that disturbs me with your car is your trap speed.....the trap speed shouldn't really change based on your 60ft.......regardless of my 60ft last night my car consistently trapped 110- 111 mph, with your car trapping so low it seems like there is power missing up top unless you miss shifted. Another thing is if you compare whats happening in your 1/8 mile to 1/4 you will see your car is moving good down low but losing time up top which it should be opposite. None the less just get more seat time in her and see what she does with a better launch, you are lucky enough to live a block from BMP.

I def agree with setting another subie track day.........more time and more planning involved of course.;)

i need to check what im boosting @ in the higher gears... it looks to me like your actually going faster in the last half of the 1/4 than i am?!!? which makes no sense since im swapped.

next time when we go would you mind driving my car? i need to figure out whether this is negative driver mod or what. lol

Yeah thats what I was telling you.....your car is pretty close to mine in the 1/8 but then you lose a lot on the back 1/8 mile.

I don't mind driving your car....just lmk when you. You see what I'm talking about with the trap speed? it shouldn't change by much regardless of your 60 ft unless you are missing gears

the trap is off and doesnt make sense. something was happening up top. i know when i had my fp green and with a shitty launch, i will still trapping over 110+. id start by checking your boost levels up top.

yeah im going to do that right meow. on the first pass when i was next to joe i messed up my 4th to 5th shift horribly. on my 2nd run i shifted perfectly all the way to 5th with maybe a tiny tiny misshift into 5th right at the end but it shouldnt have made a big difference at all..

yeah, it shouldnt be making that much of a difference. 4th gear generally ends at 98-100mph on the STi. you are only picking up another 6mph after that shift.

what type of boost controller are you using ?

he should be able to see his boost levels through the pull. also, try the playback option since its hard to watch while driving. im betting he has a leak somewhere and its not holding when he gets into 3rd and 4th. 1st and 2nd are over so quick that i dont know if they will play a huge factor and by looking at his 8th miles times, doesnt look effected at all.

do you have all your gears set to the same PSI or are they different?

also, check your boost per rpm and make sure its high for the higher rpms
