modding an esx is retarded, you buy it because its a limited edition car. theres nothing worth it if you plan on modding.

if you buy it, park it in the garage, and dont ever drive it. it will be a collectors item later down the road. for a daily driven car, its a waste of time

I have an Esx did a little bit of work to it. I love my car I drive it here and there. when my dad and I bought it we looked at it as a long term invesment. If you can afford it and have something else to drive I would say go for it. I get many compliments on how clean and nice my car is and its not to slow. Yes you can get an Sti and go faster for less but it is all about what you want out of YOUR car.

if the ESX stays low miles and well taken care of, id guess the ESX would prob be worth about 3 times more than the basic STi

I would say to buy it as it does support ESX's racing habits...they are trying to fund a WCGT car and right now it is coming out of the personal pockets of marshall pruett, gary shehan and a few others...

To the price of the car you have to add what you will spend to make the exterior look decent again! The 04-07 looked kinda or with the stripes but the 08-, umm, NO!

I would stick with the regular STi and add the money in proven stuff like an Accesport, exhaust and intercooler, and a Gadiel Protune Harman Motive has all that! Will look like a sleeper (as opposed to the ESX) and you won't be paying the mods that come with the car in the monthly payments. Car will depreciate the same as the regular STi.

why would you spend $700 on an accessport AND THEN get a custom tune? lol

Custom tune is AFTER you install intake, exhaust, header thus requiring a custom tune which is what an ESX is but for more $$

You would get a used for cheaper!! Who would want a new one? Used one+protune = the same or less than a new one. Have you seen the vids of those exhausts? ESX is kinda quiet!



ESX sells you a Stage X kit for more money but they bundle it up with stuff that is ugly or wouldn't otherwise want.

Who would spend 10K extra on a car to modify something and need a re-tune afterwards.

I'll agree with everybody else. The thing you are paying for is exclusivity. You'll have one like no one (or practically no one) else. Ok maybe 49 other people or whatever the number used to be.

And we ALL know how stupid people get when paying for something that no one else has yet, much less have ever. I.e. look at what any new console games aka PS3, Wii, 360, etc. cost when they first come out. :) People paying double, triple the msrp. And that's when there will be MILLIONS of them, not just 49 others! :P
