STI vs EVO IX and Shelby GT Cobra

These were last week but just now have time to post. I ran into Ryan and I think mcjonny in his EVO IX and Ryan was driving. We played around a little. 1st run was from like 50 mph roll......4th gear for me... I honked it off and slowly pulled out ahead, I had about 1 maybe 1 1/2 cars on him and hit the brakes.....I think I was at like 110-120 mph.

2nd run we did about the same roll with the same outcome.


3rd run we tried a lower roll but apparently Ryan had tech difficulties.......I honked it off and right before the 3rd honk the Evo brake checked and I hit the gas......I then let off and waited.....the Evo stayed in it......Once he got to my rear bumper I hit it again.......we evened out and through my 3rd we were side by side.....I hit 4th and got out a fender......5th and got out a little more......then 6th and I think I was at like 130 when I let out a 1/2 car out or so.



I also had a chance to get a quick run in with a new Shelby GT 500 Cobra......... we went from a 80 roll :-o Definitely not my strong point but whatever right? So I paced him and I hit it..........then I let out since it didn't seem he wanted to run.......he then hits it... so I proceed.........he got out 2 cars on me and by about 140 he had like 2 1/2- 3 cars on me. I wish we could have done a lower roll or digg but that thing moved out.

^:lol: Actually they aren't very fast at all. With good driver I have heard of them running 12.8 1/4 mile.......car and driver could only pull a 13.2 out of it. My car is quicker than 12.8 and my car is slow.

nothin, not trying to call your car slow.... but I rarely see GT500's on the road since it's a collector's car. Plus, there are other Mustang packages that offer "Shelby" for looks... It's somewhat hard to believe because the GT500 beat you by 3 cars from a roll and your car is faster than a stock GT 500. Even minor bolt on STi have hard time keeping up with a regular C6 vette or stock 03-04 Cobra.

The GT500 story sounds realistic. They leave a little to be desired in stock form- especially when you consider weight.

my car ran a 12.7 @ 109 2 weeks ago with not the best 60 ft and that was before the retune with more boost and more aggressive that Gadiel did last weekend. Any awd car loses a lot of power from a roll.....especially an 80 roll :lol: and especially with me being on the stock tiny turbo. Also, as the story says.....I punched it ......then I let out.....then he punched it and then I hit it again to give chase, I don't see what so hard to believe here. Had we run from a dig, it would have been a great race. If it was a "look a like" then they did a hell of a job because it had the racing stripes, gt 500 logos and decals on the door, shelby on the back, and the cobra emblem in the grill. No need for me to lie about a race when I have plenty of them I don't even post. If I recall, There was a gt500 at the BVP dyno day so they are out on the street

True!! I'm not doubting or calling you a liar, I just thought that the GT500 would have beat you more than 3 cars from a roll. Regardless, good kill/death! :)

I should have taken that gt 500 if it would have been an even start......def from a dig. I just came back from the track and my ran 12.4 .....wujuu. Unless of course the gt500 was modded

:lol: Thanks bro!........I don't care that the gt500 beat me, that's what happens in street races.....the faster car doesn't always come out on top. It was fun...so i;m happy.

I believe the GT500 KR runs mid 11's, correct me if I'm wrong. The GT500 coupe runs mid to high 12's and convertible runs high 12's to low 13's.

Good kills.Gt500's are overrated ive seen them at bmp struggle to run 12's with the stock tires.
