need help with toon rims...

I'm not sure if you guys have seen the "toon" I'm working on (trying to atleast)..but anyways I'm stuck on it...I can't figure out how to go about doing the rims and tires...This is what I have completed so far just messing around and trying to make it look like my car

anyone have any tips on how to go about doing the rims and tires? (I'm trying to replicate the ones on my car in my sig)

Wheels are always the hardest aspect of any toon...besides headlights.

The best way is to do them in layers.

I'm headed of to sleep right now, but tomorrow I'll put up a little tutorial that may help you.

your the man... and btw the VW toon...that pretty much inspired me to attempt this, so you rock..lol

Thanks for saying that. :cool: I've inspired a bunch of other people to do toons too at Streetfire...it's cool seeing people try them.

I looked for that tutorial, couldn't find it though.

My best advice is to use the pen tool to make your selections and then do the darkest parts on the bottom layers and work your way out to the lightest parts.
