Anybody going? We're going to test a new "all motor" converter in Donald's old Probe (long story) and see if the chassis likes it better. Damn thing goes right down the track on two kits, smooth as glass, but on the motor, it bounces, shakes the tires, all kinds of crazy chit.

Anyway, we broke something in the tranny in the black car Saturday night, so we're going to make one hit and see if it's fixed or not, then taking the motor out to be freshened up.

And my Cobra and the new radial car are still motorless. :cry:

So if anybody wants to say hi, we'll be there.

Carbs Suck ;)I run a carb on my 67, and F/I on my 95. I prefer the carb set up. Easier to diagnose problems if they happen, and cheaper to fix when they do.

Do the probe make a clean hit on the motor? Did you guys try dropping the bars a little to tame the car on the motor? Im guessing on the spray it carrys the car and unloads slower but on the motor not to much.

When we switched from the Hemi to the chevy in the chassi car it was being a whore like that too. way lighter on the front end ( It came UP 3 inches!. we dropped the front end back down a couple turns at a time and also dropped the bars an inch and shes back to riding them straight out of the gate.

i saw you guys at the line when the stang took the bust run. John, the car never bounced literally all the way down the track until Rob put new shocks on it. :roll:

The owner is having Stroupe fix everything and test it.

Ya they do....no 2 step though unless you go into the pro category. But all those guys have delay box's and shit like that so of course they are dead on with their lights.

Thats why I dont go out and play. I cant get my car to be consistent unless I am on the 2 step :(

And in Amanda's defense yes I have been watching there cars and I agree they have been having some problems. But when you have those types cars there is always gonna be some bugs that need sorted out. But they are working on it I can see.

And I have a feeling if she came out with a "budget" backyard race car she might put a whooopin on some of us :D

Plus budget to them is probably a 500+ big block in a coupe with alot of nitrous and full suspension....their big ballers gotta remember that lol Budget to them is probably what we consider still way out of our price range ahhahahhaa

WHat a pain in the ass. I know guys who changed their set ups and have had nightmares with springs. I would assume u guys need a shorter spring in the same spring weight and raise the adjusters to retain the ride height. Im assuming Donald cant add the tension the front end needs because its increasing the ride height (IE spring too long) A tube chassi 4 link coil over car should leave like a Prostocker

Now i know we are only in the 8s with this car but its an N/A car and right now its got a BULLSHIT temp motor in it untill the big cheif headed 632 is done then its Tops sportsman time should go 7.40s N/A on the new motor and God only freaken knows on the spray. When the car is just sitting the nose is only about 1 1/2-2in off the ground. We had the same problem you guys are having. It was caused by the weight loss of ditching the Hemi for the chevy. The nose came up 3inches. we lowered the nose back down but wound up bouncing. We had to get shorter springs to retain ride height and spring tension.

This is as out of sorts as it gets it just settles down and motors. Who ever can guess what kind of wheels thoose are gets a cookie. Hint. They are hollow 2 piece prostock wheels

John, it used to leave like a Pro Stock. it is a Pro Stock. LOL There's just something going on in the rear and Stroupe can sort all that out. We've moved the 4 link, moved the wheelie bars, changed the ride height. :(

ah chit that blows. did it do it right off the bat at idle, or was it a little high rpm BDDDDDDDATTT!! :lol: either way it makes for a bad day and an empty bottle of Crown that night :crack: if that happens to this motor or anything else catastrophic of the sort, i got a 351 bored and balanced sitting in the corner just itching to be put back in the game. :cool:

It idled fine. It was finally going to the track...Donald made a test pass out on 39 before we were going to load up. I don't remember if I heard it or not, but when he got back, it wasn't running right. Took it apart and the heads were messed up, valves were shot, pistons were shot..I only paid $3500 for the whole motor, and it would have close to that just to fix it. So I parted it all out.

A friend of ours has the car now. Actually, I think we're all going to Lakeland tonight with it.
