Is there a local shop that can tune a 03' Grand Prix GTP? I'm thinking of getting one but I want to know if there is a shop that can tune this so I don't have to do this myself :D

i think tuners for that motor are more of a cult following than any one shop. dont remember who tuned heavychevy3800 but that bitch rides out and maybe he will chime in.

Local guy helped tune my car. Check out http://www.cnfcgp.com for help. There isn't really a shop that does our cars. I'm sure Formato could do one since he's god of GM Tuning.

To the op cnfcgp is full of childish bs avoid them at all cost.. and the thing you need to do is email zzp and get a pre tuned pcm from them and there you go

Mail order tunes are a waste of money. They are good for trans settings and thats about it. All they do as add some timing and fuel. It's a shot in the dark really. A scanner and an old MAF translator is more useful then a mail order tune. Street tune and Dyno tune the car yourself or pay someone to do it.

To the op check you pm box you have a pm from me.. It will tell you some of what you need to do to get your mod list set up and so on.. And the best place for an off the shelf tune is zzp. Heavychevy has someone tune his car locally and has blown up quite a few engines so please take that into thought before picking a tuner local or an off the shelf tune.

If it was the tune it would of blown long ago. First motor went because of a PCM hardware issue. Even if I had the almighty "L67 lower end" it wouldn't of lasted a dropped MAF signal at WOT. Leaned out and piston 4 went. 2nd motor was a junkyard engine to get me by. Spun a bearing running the car, unrelated to tuning or detonation. You know what the story is with both accounts. You just tell people what is convenient to you.

^Heavy.. What is the story on the transmissions when it comes to these cars? I have looked on quite a few sites and it seems that people can't seem to keep them together. Even when they are "Built" they seem to just burn themselves up. I really want to get a GTP because I love the styling and the performance potential is mind blowing, but I don't want to go through a trany every year or so.

My Buick has a 3800 Series II in it. And I should throw that supercharger on it. Because it would be cool. But then again I awnt to turbo or supercharge everything I own, so....
