Today on my way to work, I had just turned onto the street I work and my car threw a CEL. It's P0420 "Catalyst system efficiency below threshold". I just got tuned on Saturday and everything has been great. I currently have APS CAI, APS TBE (no cat) and Cobb AP.
Any ideas?

disconnect battery... wait... reconnect battery...
now go figure out a way to trick the ECU via resistor or turn off the code in the ROM so it doesn't come back.

I got the same code bro, and I got tuned on Friday. Maybe gadiel forgot to take it out of the ROM

That's for the dp 02 sensor. You can do either a mechanical fix or electrical. The mechanical involves using two spark plug extensions and screwing them into the exhaust pipe and the 02 sensor into the end of the extensions. The electrical fix uses a resistor in the 02 sensor cable. Both are really easy and cheap, or you could just tune it out.

Shouldn't it have been tuned out by Gadiel? It never did it when I was stage 2.

Yeah that is strange that it didn't come up before. What kind of stage 2 tune was it? You're running a catless TBE right? Is the rear 02 sensor stock?

It was Cobb AP stage 2. Yeah, it's catless and the rear 02 has never been touched.

theres basically a checklist of things that your car checks for while it is running.. any tuner has the capability to uncheck the one that is showing up.

The AP gets rid of the CEL (tunes it out) so that's probably why it didn't show up. If you have a Tactrix and laptop you can get rid of it yourself.

That's what I figured. But I don't have the cable to do it myself.

Cant you use the AP cable to do it yourself? Ive been using it to datalog for a couple of years. Or is it just able to datalog and not tune with?

yes you can check and clear codes with the accessport
i cant believe gadiel would forget something like telling the ecu to ignore that code. thats like tuning subarus 101. first thing is have it ignore the O2 codes.
reason you didnt get it before is that all accessport maps are programmed to ignore it.

Oh, yeah I already cleared the code with the AP. I thought the other guy meant turn of the light with the AP.

A little off topic but what did you pull on that dyno Wrxgurl? I was able to get 275/280 with my stg 2+ sti with a conservative 17-18 psi tune and 305/319 on an agressive 20-21psi tune.

Stage 2 was 216/266 and after tune it was 244/292.
Nice! What mods do you have?

You can turn this CEL off with Cobb Streetuner if running an access port. If you do not have Streetuner you need to have your Pro tuner switch it off in the map.
