I wanna get 2 10" Kicker CompVR's and they have an option of dual 2-ohm or dual 4-ohm voice coils. What is the difference they are both the same price

No difference other than wiring options. Depends on what amp you go with and what it's stable to, as well as what kind of power you're trying to get out of it. Do you have an amp yet?

Assuming it's the amp I found online (XM-1652Z), your best bet is to get the dual 4-ohm subs, wire each sub individually in parrallel and then put one on each channel of the amp. That amp appears to only put out 200w rms at that as well (and with Sony, that is probably even overrated) so you definetly might want to consider a bigger amp. Those subs should handle a true 400w rms each without a problem

Agreed, you guys really need to stop buying that cheap crap Sony puts out. Just because it says 1000w on the box does not mean that's generally what you're going to be using to the subwoofers themselves. Remember that research is key, and to do lots of it before you throw down a couple hundred in equipment.

Dump that Sony off on an older relative paired with a very small subwoofer and make their day while getting yourself something bigger with much better power ratings and quality.

So what would you guys recommend as a replacement that would be the best for the setup I want?

Any amp that does a TRUE 6-900w rms. Mono class D.

My amp's model is XM-ZR1582. It doesn't say its RMS rating on the amp and I don't have the box anymore. I even googled the model and nothing turns up.
