View Full Version : Worst driven C6 Z06 Ever
I saw a black C6 Z going over the howard last night and figured i'd see how many cornfields he would put on me ..
I was going about 60-70 and downshifted into 3rd and gave it a couple hits to get him to bite . He looks over and smiles and downshifts and goes .
He starts to pull as soon as I hit it he shifts , lol I immidiately go by him and put like 2-3 cars on him . He starts gaining again and passes me as I bang 4th . He then shifts again and BAM i'm out another 3-4 cars again lol I keep pulling and slam 5th and hes comming again but this time he doesn't pass me and falls back atleast 4-5 cars this time ...
If your on here good race but holy shit man , you should have walked me lol . Learn to shift

You really think his car is going to beat a c6z from a roll, sans the worst driver ever? :lol: MAYBE on 100 shot but not on motor. Fact o' the matter is jap has a badass street machine, esp from a dig but he ain't trapping in the high 1teen's low 120's by a long shot.

I am calling bs, there is 3 c6's with z06 rear quarters running around in tampa dont get them confused I got a c6z and its bone stock (black too) and at 60 im in second and it takes alot for anything to keep up.

I don't think Jap is dumb enough to not be able to tell a zo6 from a non-zo6 dude.Chances are likely the dude was granny shifting and not really getting on it.Also, the one I rode in got nasty wheelspin up to about 80mph.
I am not saying anyone is dumb unless you can read the vin there is no way to tell a "done rite z06 panel swap" other than the fact that it revs to 6k and has 100 missing hp .

Wanna see a video of a real stock Z06 ? Let me ruin it for ya. 12.7 was his best all day, ran 13's a few times. Bad driver ? maybe, but it wasn't trapping 126mph either. If you have a NA RWD car that runs 11.70s bone stock, no driver that's trying is going to make it lose 2 secs and 10mph. But that's just me...
If you think I'm just a GM hater, ask what I'm dropping into TJ wrangler in June.... 6.0L LSx ( techiniclly a LQ4 ).
I'm not saying the Z06 is slow either though... Just.... Over rated.
As far as driving one and it felling fast, that's about stupid. Ride in a chipped 335I. Felt like a solid 14.0 car, and ran 12.78@109.8mph. Ride in my 89' civic that ran 14.6@96mph, it felt like a rocketship. Ride in my neon, beat a bad ass cobra from a roll and felt kinda slow. Took a ride in the cobra and it was the fastest "feeling" car I've ever been in ( I've been in faster cars that were auto ). My kidneys actully hurt a few days later from the cobra :mullet:
And... I'm not even going to comment on the beating the 350z on 11psi comment :lol:

I dont think there is anything over-rated about the z, over 80% of ppl racing at the track cannot drive , you dont buy a car and get the magazine times without learning how it reacts to the track.

Ran 11.9 off the bottle... Yea. 400whp ? And over 500TQ.
But I'm done with all that. That's why I've selling the ole hotness for a more relaxing hobby ( no less expensive I'm find out ).
And BTW, my car wouldn't need the bottle for ANY 350Z I've EVER SEEN, other than the pure factory backed $300,000 race cars. Bone stock new Altimas are faster than the first gen 3.5L 350zs now.
I don't hate on the vettes anymore ( thanx CBRtrx and painopodigy ), but I have no love for the 350z other than it sounds great stock, and if you get the G35 its a sweet sport lux. coupe, but neither are much for drag racing, stick drifting yo mad tightness, dog.

11.9 off bottle? on slicks or radials? My old 379whp z ran 12.5 on street tires, at 115. That was a bone stock motor on 8psi :lol: Slow I know....but it was stock running a small turbo heh. Good enough for.....high 11s on tires.
There are a few z's, especially in orlando, that could put a whoopin up. I know of a 540whp TT G35 down here that can roll on some nastiness, with pimp a/c and tunes blarin.
anyways, what fun is there in bench racing? You haven't seen many modded Z's, skittle :mullet:

driver makes all the difference in a c6z. there is a guy who drove his bone stock c6z with only drag radials to a 10.85@129.5. I personally saw a blue c6z last time I was at the track not break out of the 12's. Hell most the time he was in the 13-14sec range. Just because that guy couldnt drive doesnt mean they are all slow. I dont think 10.85 on drag radials only is what I would call "overrated" :roll:

Yea... Back when I stated, if you had some eldelbrock heads, cam, and intake on a 5.0 fox, you were king of the street, and you could buick grandnationals for $8K with 25K miles.
Not saying the 350/G35 couldn't be fast, its just... A lot of work. A lot of time, and for drag racing, its just not the best platform to start with. I sure flipped out about the G35 when it first came out, but mostly cause I thought inside was bad ass for a $35K sports coupe, RWD, 6-speed and all.
10.85 on drag radials :lol: Z06 with a 175shot:lol: CBRtrx claimed his Z06s wouldn't run low 10s but he completely destoryed everything on the street that wasn't a V10 :D , so a C6Z with drag radials and 100shot should be knocking on the 9's :lol:

+1.I was at T&T thursday and a GT500(didnt sound stock) couldnt break out of the 12's.Every car and driver is different.I swear Cbrtrx race record must be 151W-2T-4L i didnt even know he raced you too.I think we should start a "HAS BEEN" crew since nobody values our opinion.:lol:

That guy is very well known through out the corvette forum and z06vette.com His time slips are verified and the cars are as stock as when they left the showroom floor. I don't know what else you need as proof. You just keep thinking a c6z is only capable of 11.9s on drag radials, it just shows what an idiot you are.

What I need proof of is about 5,000 more Z06s running simular times, not 1-2-3-4 guys running 10.50s and 20,000 other guys that "can't drive, all 20,000 of them" running 12.50s.
I Guess EVOs and STis run 12.80s stock too....

Wanna see a video of a real stock Z06 ? Let me ruin it for ya. 12.7 was his best all day, ran 13's a few times. Bad driver ? maybe, but it wasn't trapping 126mph either. If you have a NA RWD car that runs 11.70s bone stock, no driver that's trying is going to make it lose 2 secs and 10mph. But that's just me...
If you think I'm just a GM hater, ask what I'm dropping into TJ wrangler in June.... 6.0L LSx ( techiniclly a LQ4 ).
I'm not saying the Z06 is slow either though... Just.... Over rated.
As far as driving one and it felling fast, that's about stupid. Ride in a chipped 335I. Felt like a solid 14.0 car, and ran 12.78@109.8mph. Ride in my 89' civic that ran 14.6@96mph, it felt like a rocketship. Ride in my neon, beat a bad ass cobra from a roll and felt kinda slow. Took a ride in the cobra and it was the fastest "feeling" car I've ever been in ( I've been in faster cars that were auto ). My kidneys actully hurt a few days later from the cobra :mullet:
And... I'm not even going to comment on the beating the 350z on 11psi comment :lol:

so does anyone still hang out in lakeland these days? I drove down that way on the back this past saturday and didn't see anyone I recognized so i didn't stop....Btw a stock c6z gave me a hell of a run on my 07 r6.....i'd say they are pretty quick with a decent driver. :lol: I wonder if I could finally beat that damn Neon with my bike since I lost almost every damn time in the camaro

This bike seems to get down through the corners a hell of a lot better than my 04 750. I'd give it a shot at the track, but it doesn't seem like it'd be much fun compared to riding out on the twisties. What is this lexus you speak of? I don't hang out anymore. My car is stock, and even when it was fast, I had to pester everyone to come over to Lakeland. I left, and then then Jason sold his cobra, so no one really has any reason to come over here anymore.
I never cared about drag racing my bike either, AT ALL. I only got 2300 miles out of a rear tire, and never did a single burn out. I still want a 01' GSXR1000 ( lightest GSXR1000 built to date ), but with everyone around me dieing on bikes, I can't do it. The Tyler thing really scared me a lot. Sold him my bike and 2-3 months later, he's died on a bike ( which I thought was my bike for a few days ). I sold mine only b/c I was losing "self control" on it, but I have no reason to beleive that if I get one again, and not going to be a jackass again.
In 07' the R6 went back to 4 vavles per cylinder, right ? I've always liked the R6, its just built for a smaller person, and I look like a Giant on it. I also (personal opinion) think that they lack on power, but make up for it in handling.
If you wanna see some extremely nice roads, find me a bike to ride, and I'll show you all the places around here that people would NEVER beleive exsist in FL as far as curves !!! Just don't expect too much speed out of me anymore.
If you ever get good enough to drag a knee on the street, you'll only do it once. I have the scare on my knee to prove it :lol: ( dumb ass )

After I sold all my "race parts", I actully felt like a weight had been lifted off me. I spent most the time in the back of my mind trying to figure out how to gain another .01 or .009 of a second off my times. After I knew I wasn't racing it anymore, it was like I quit a second job. Then my wife gave me a new job fixing/cleaning shit around the house :lol: I miss hanging out with some of the people, but not really the late nights in the garage or the hole drilled in my wallet.
So... Eric... You wanna hang out ? Guess what I'm putting in my wrangler to replace the 4.0l ?..... Should be an easy guess.

LQ4 is the 6.0L truck motor ( 345hp 395TQ ) from the 2500 silverado.
I don't need any help, but if someone whats to come over and help/hang-out its going to be a "slow and steady" type deal vs normal street racing style of "slap in, cause I got a race this weekend".
I'll be starting the swap-a-roo right after the Neon is sold. It cost me about $500 a month between insurence and payment. I've already got someone with the motor, I'm just waiting till the neon is gone to buy it ( maybe ).
The 4.8/5.3/6.0, LS1/LS6, and Vette motors are all about the same inside, only slight differences. Mostly being the truck has an iron block, and second being the pulley set-ups. And the truck motors can run off 87-92oct. without issue ( where as your "not supposed to" run anything but 92+ in the other motors ). The intakes are differenent, but the sensors and all that are the same, and the truck intake is basiclly just to make more torque vs hp. I saw a 6.0 truck test where the 6.0 actully lost power swapping to the camaro style intake ( which provides more hood space ).
I'd be happy with the 4.8L, its just I found a 6.0 for a hard to beat price and its 100% complete ( including the tranny that I don't need ).
Yea, I know the diff between motors and stuff, well at least about the iron block part anyhow. The lq4 sounds perfect for a jeep! Whenever you get started on it let me know. I'd be glad to lend a hand and hang out. It'd be nice to learn a few things along the way too. I know what it's like to sell your toys because of money....my camaro payment was 480$ by itself. Once construction slowed down so did my wallet...lol
