On Tuesday, April 22 I ordered a coil over set made by Tein USA from Brotherz Racing. I paid $600 even for it, including shipping. They assured me the item would be in the store in 2-3 business days as they are an authorized distributor. I called them Thursday hoping for speedy delivery of the packages, they were not there yet. I called Friday, the packages still were not there. On Friday's conversations I learned that there would be an additional $25 for shipping. UPS makes deliveries Saturdays so they once again assured me the package would be in by Saturday at latest.

Monday morning UPS attempts to deliver the item to Brotherz Racing; UPS would only take a cashier's check, certified bank check, or money order. Fine, I can understand that hold up. I attempt to find out what was going on all afternoon and heard multiple "stories" from employees, only to be called in the evening by one of the shop's employees stating that he's "in class, will give me the invoice when he gets out." At this point, I'm nearly certain I'm being ripped off and they have no intention on delivering the items. When he gets out of class he claims he has no ride as his dad who was supposed to pick him up is too drunk to drive. My boyfriend and I give him a ride to the shop expecting to be able to pick up the coil overs from UPS. He gives me the invoice receipt, tells me to get it myself from UPS, refunds $575.94 to the card I paid with as I will need to pick up a money order myself to get the item from UPS and still takes the shops' cut of the actual shipped price of $575.94. For those of you math challenged, the shop's cut was $24.06.

Tuesday morning I went down to UPS to pick up the package myself. That was a hassle in itself.

I did eventually get the item, and now I'm alerting everyone else as a public service to avoid doing business with them.

While I believe a shop should get "commission" so to say out of what they sell, I fail to see why they felt they deserved any commission, I had to pick up the item, negotiate the pickup with UPS, etc. All of these things should be the responsibility of the shop.

I've alerted Tein to their practices, as I know if I was a representative of the company I would not want my company associated in anyway with this shop.

No cliff notes, sorry.

Note to Mods: Move this if you must.

2-3 business days.= thurs/fri/mon

saturdays don't count as a business day
monday the ups man was at fault. if it was c.o.d. they should have been more specific. but following procedure ups brought the item back to base.

i'm not saying that you shouldn't be a bit annoyed. but attempting to tarnish a shops reputation on a forum...the wrong forum i might add, is no way to go about handling yourself. you should have discussed this with the shop owner, given them a chance to explain themselves and accepted the apology for the inconvenience i am sure they would have given.

IMO you overstepped your boundaries on this one. i have no experience with this shop, no affiliation, and really no bias towards them. but in all fairness they did what they said they would. the $26 they charged, could have been applied for the time they consumed dealing and helping you along the way, just some food for thought. angry rants aren't always wise.

^ aw that was cute,it made me lol

i am pretty sure that no one, except the OP and Brothers have anything to do with this. thats why its posted in pit road, it pertains to nothing in particular. nothing of great importance, and nothing that will ever mean a damned thing.

edit:: obtw, names chris. nice to meet you. now that we're acquainted, might i ask your name? dave is it? hello dave. have a nice day

who orders coilovers from some local podunk shop anyway?
and, if you only paid 574$ for teins, just dont get them at all, they are terrible.

^ How is what I buy relevant to a thread about a shop that attempts to cheat its' customers?

Brothers isn't some podunk shop as far as I know I've heard nothing but good things about them.

in all honesty i am not trying to start up shit with you...

but what i would like to know is, how did they "cheat" you?
they did spend time helping you out, they did refund your money. shops don't run on hand outs. they did after all order you the parts. dealt with the shipping arrangements, and dealt with you. either way, you got the parts and you didn't lose any real amount of money.

^^Did you not read the first paragraph where they attempted to get $25 additional dollars, which would have made their cut $49.06 after I placed the order?

*Edit: That is absurdly tacky, you don't have a deal and then try to get more money out of someone under the guise of "additional shipping charges". Especially if there are none as evidenced by the COD request from Tein.

All they refunded was what they were supposed to pay Tein so that I could get the money order as that apparently was too much work for them.

I don't know about you, but it seems every time i sign on i see a thread talking about a horrible experience with this shop ever since rob and dave left. One things for sure, that thread in mitsu tech sealed the deal of me ever stepping foot anywhere near that shop.

dude thats a shitty situation, i can understand how the shop wants some money but the way that it happened i dont see how they deserve money. all they did was order them for you and you had to deal with all the bullshit that you pay them to deal with.

??? ups never delivered it in the first place so i wouldnt blame ups... sounds like brotherz was the middle man between this transaction and the OP shouldve just gone through tein directly... the shop basically charged 25ish dollars to order the suspension

It's on the first page in mitsu tech. One labeled recent changes to a shop....

you know, thats how businesses make money correct?
i hate shops, and dont buy from anyone local except a few places.

all in all, be glad you got your stuff, and not just an empty pocket and move on.
its what, 25$ youre out? big deal. quit crying.
