So, this may be a stupid question, but why the swap from everything being in the black car to now going into the red one?

not a stupid question. everyone keeps asking.. just in different threads lol.

heres what i said to a few other ppl.

why the swap to the red hatch?

cause the black one has a unrebuildable salvage title. it was barely hit but the insurance company sucks and totaled the car. so i just decided to buy this one and swap everything over.

I think it would have been easier to just take the vin tags off the red car and put them on the black car and then go and register the black car with the red car's vin.
yea, but i didn't really want to do that. i was planning on pulling the motor anyway and even tho it seems like alot of work, it was all done in 2 days. with my dad working on the black car and me working on the red car we got everything done fast.

plus, who wants a red interior? not me. so instead of messing around with a bunch of wires, risking cracking a dash and hassling with all the panels, why not just unbolt 4 bolts in the rear end, and 8 in the front end and lift the car away from the suspension? i really don't want any reason for my car to be illegal, besides like my exhaust. plus the body on this one is much straighter (cant really tell in the pics)

Much better, legally speaking, to go ahead and put the guts from the black car onto the read one - versus illegaly swapping VIN's and trying not to get caught. Good call, IMO.

Any plans to repaint the red car once all the stuff is swapped on/over?

thats exactly what i wanted. some people just dont get it. im done with having to hide all the time and going out of my way to not have a cop within a 1/8th mile of my car. and as far as paint, it either going to be black again. or dark metallic blue. kinda like the orient blue on the 02 camaro SS but darker.

thanks! i cant wait to get it on the road and legal. i hate not having a car to drive and my moms truck sucks on gas. my family thought i was crazy when i said my car got better gas mileage then her truck. i proved them wrong when i got lost on my way to shauns lol. but yea, more updates soon, i have to borrow my friends camera again.

well, the car is almost back together. only thing left is to put on the tranny cross member, my gauges, exhaust, and give it gas and oil. im heading to the shop in about 30 minutes to complete it. sorry i have no pictures, i don't have my friends camera anymore. I'll probably get to use it after the car is done so ill have pics then..

hahaha no problem man, sad thing is i actually forgot about them too! I've been so caught up in other things i haven't thought about them. bro dont worry about throwing in anything for free lol, i have no use for it. but do you still have that shifter plate doohickey that the leather boot mounts to? or that and the boot? i really need one lol.
