but i think i'm going to steer away from from the 24-70 range. i've been reading some sketchy stuff about the quality and so forth from the sigma 24-70 2.8, I'm still going to look at the Tamron 28-75 2.8 BUT i've found the sigma 18-50 2.8 EX DC HSM Macro. I've read a lot of good things about it and the picture quality looks great, I think i can sacrifice the 20mm between it and my 70-300.

and combining my new flash (hopefully soon to acquire as well) it will make for some good night/indoor portrait and group shots.

First, it's funny that you're "for serious" and then your first line is "hopefully". :lol:

With that being said, covering the entire range of focal lengths is overrated IMO. I haven't had 56mm-69mm ever, and I've never missed it. I never thing "Ooo, I could get this shot if I could zoom in a minuscule amount more/less." You basically just step forward, backwards, or take a different shot. Don't worry about small gaps between your lenses, once you get the camera in your hand you won't notice it.

Don't know much about those lenses you posted, but I might be interested in buying your 18-55mm when you replace it. I have two cameras, I need another set of lenses. Don't get excited though, refurbs are only $79 so it wouldn't be worth more than $50 to me.

but just type in those lenses to B&H and check em out. they're all good and in my range so i gotta decide soon
