Very nice, Yea Jeremy and Mike's hatch is real fast. It's a bored out gs-r block with head work. They have a build thread on H-T
Here's a video from last year. They did some aero mod's this off season, so it will be even faster this year.

Awesome pics! What do you shoot with?
The yellow Juno is pdisme on here.
The guy in the 240 is 70 and still kicks ass behind the wheel.
Canon 400D (XTi) with a couple of L lenses, Extreme III cards, grip, filters, etc...
I practice panning shots as much as I can. I think It's the most difficult technique in motorsports photograhpy to master.
As for these images, if these cars belong to anyone on TR, feel free to use them as you wish - credit would be appreciated!

some are good, some are alittle too blurry. Looking at the Exif info, you need a little more shutter speed. 1/30 is really to slow for cars going 3x that speed
You are right Mars. I was experimenting with different speeds and ISO trying to find my threshold. I posted some of the blurry images for others to see the cars that were running. I appreciate your input!

What was your exact setup? I take it you were using a 70-200 2.8 L IS? You can get away sometimes with a 1/30 of a second speed, but its going to be one of those lucky ones were things were just perfect and having a monopod does help a lot especially when shooting at the 200mm range. I will shoot anywhere from 1/60-1/250. Just depends on the distance they are from me, the speeds they are traveling, and the direction they are coming at me.

something like this is more or less a high shutterspeed. fast enough to get the cars sharp, but you can still see the tires are spinning and not frozen. It took me a few drift events to get panning down and the past few years i've just been working on trying a few different things to see how they come out.

btw I use a Sigma 70-200 2.8 EX. I have no IS on it though, so I do run sometimes a faster shutter speed than what you could get away with the on a canon IS lens, but ive ran some pretty low speeds at times sometimes by accident and got some pretty awesome panned shots, but it was more or less just luck

the cars arnt sharp in the last one though^ one or 2 stops more and it would have been money
All shots in this thread were hand-held with a 70-200mm 4L (non-IS). I think I was pretty successful @ 1/60. I can sometimes get away with 1/30 if the cars are headed towards me somewhat while turning or on a bend, but it's still only about 30% successful . My goal for this trip was to work on some difficult panning - from the side @ higher speeds with maximum moition effect, thats why some of the images were @ 1/30.
I have a couple of monopods, but those things tend to just get in my way.

where you out there hanging out with a friend driving? Did chin let you walk around all you want?
Out of respect for CHIN's official photographer, the short answer is no, but I had an "in".
