cool rocky!!...honestly the only one to really stay awayfrom is the 1990 model year. If you are looking to mainly just have a daily driver with some slight mods to add some pep they will all be relaible. The drive limes dont start to get weak untill well in to the 12s. add an exahust boost control upper ic and bee in the 13s. I know not nearly as fast as your civic but reliable with some get up and go!

Just like any car the less it has been taken care of by its prevous owner the less relaible it will be. just look for something that has been maintained well and i promise you will be happy with your dsm! If you get one any problems you amy have there are plenty of people that will be willing to help and there are lots of resourses to get parts cheap too!!

sniff sniff the 90s aint so bad...Just try to get the latest manufacture date in 90 mine is NOV of 89 and I get mixed opinions on whether or not the internals of the tranny are gonna be a pain in the a$$ to upgrade but if you get any that are built in 90 be it a 90 model or an 91(built late 90 but sold as a 91) you will be fine. There is a 93 plymoth laser in north florida that is only 2 grand now I thought they did not make a awd laser but I seen it with my own eyes?

Just look for a 91-94. I like the Talons personally...they have a track record for being faster for some unknown reason. Even though they rolled off the assembly line right next to the others. Like EMO said stay away from the 90s and youll be OK. They tend to have alot of electrical gremlins. The car will NEVER shift like your Honda. The trannys are notoriously notchy and grind. You get used to it though and learn the quirks of how your car will shift and adjust your driving to it. None of the trannys are any better or worse from a daily driver standpoint. Unless you get a 95+
