That's really, really impressive !!! Now just a little work on the reaction times and you'll be deadly.

I'm the exact opposite, my truck is setup for 1/8th mile, so I fall flat on my face as soon as I pass the 1/8th.

nice times.
Work on reaction time and hes deadly? reaction time only matters in bracket racing, it has no affect on your ET's...:D

Actually Shaggy, that's not true. In the case of his time slip above, his reation time sucked but that may not have been all his fault. Reaction Time = Vehicle Reaction + Driver Reaction and Driver Reaction typically =.250 out of the standard perfect.500.

Reaction time and ET are directly proportionate to stagging depth. The distance between the pre-stage and stage photo cells is 7-1/4". If you shallow stage your reaction time will be slower but you ET will be quicker because you get a running start (roll out). If you stage deep, your reaction time will be quicker and your ET slower.

When you go to the track, watch how we stage. We use what is known as bump stagging. We go into the first light, stop then bump ever so gently into the second bulb. We want it to flicker on. 2 reasons. We want to be in as shallow as possible to set up the delay boxes consistantly and if you stage in the exact same spot every time you get deadly consistant. The only way you can judge that you are staging in the exact same spot every time is to bump stage.

If you want to increase your roll out (for better reaction times) increase the circumfrance of the front tires by adding air in 10 lb increments. Or if you're red lighting vise versa and let air out.

Also, by the way. Drag strips assume the .500 on a sportsman tree for reaction times so the .218 on his time slip was actually .718 from the last yellow or .218 from the green. The driver reaction time I discussed above is in the assumed .500 between the last yellow and the green. Even footbrake racers need consistant reaction times below .050. Trans brake racers need consistant reaction times of .020 (on the high side) if you expect to go rounds.
