Ok, lets start off by me saying, Im not much into systems..

I just want to add my 10" woofer and a little amp into my stock system(nissan cd player, 2 6x9's and 2 6" mids)

I was wondering if anyone has installed and used one of these things, I know its from walmart, but as I said. Im not into systems...

I just want a little more bump to what I have...

here is what I am looking at...
Scosche Ford/JBL and GM/Bose Speaker Level Converter, FAI-3 - Wal-Mart (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=1863065#Item+Description)

if its just a normal line out it should have 4 wires coming out of it,hook the left set to you left rear speaker, and the right set to your rear right..then you should just be able to plug your rcas into it

But it works without the wire connected... I was wondering if it could have been a remote, due to the factory HU doesnt have one.

It's an additional ground but it's not needed unless you're having problems.

Was $1 from the junk yard.. JL wants $150 for theirs... I am using this for a 100w RMS 10" woofer... I can make more bass with my mouth... But Its more than factory...

could have gotten an amp with high level input. would have solved the noise..

also those are used all the time in systems i hve seen for lease cars..

I actually bought the amp for a box in my s10.. I had a HU amp and 4 10s... But i blew it up and sold the truck and most of the parts... I had an amp and 1 10" sub left so Im gonna throw it in my daily for some bump...

That extra wire is VERY misunderstood. Some vehicles need this ground somehow to send a clean signal through the speaker wires that the convertor can then use to output a low level to the rca's. You always just hook up the speaker level wires and rca's first, if everything works-leave the wires disconnected. We've installed hundreds of these of all different brands over the years and never had one that we had to hook up the ground wire(s) (some have two). We sell these made by DB link for like $10. They're cheap (price not quality).

ok so now i had to put this darn thing in my buddys 07 malibu, i have no idea what wires go where.....i know i need to splice two wires (one from one side of the speaker and the other from other) but i dont know where to put those wires into the scosche unit. i hooked the wires where it said to in the lil crappy booklet they give you and still no sound from the subs....everything else is hooked up, amp turns on fine, its just i have no idea how to use that unit thing.

and im not new to audio its just ive never hooked subs up to a stock radio. im so confused....
