I don't know anything about lenses.
I need a decent zoom lens for a trip im taking in a few months, something in the 300 range especially for scenery forests/rivers/landscapes.

Thanks guys.

If you have Canon -

Can go with the 70-300 IS L F2.8 ($$$)

Or maybe the sigma 70-300($$)

If you shoot with canon

for starts there is the sigma 70-300 and tamron 70-300 both around 150. They are okay lenses and do their job. If you wanna step it up quit a bit theres the Canon 70-300 IS 4-5.6 for about $300, about $200 more will get the Image Stabilization version or you can get the 70-200 F4 L for about $500 as well. There is also Sigmas 28-300 which ive been reading shoots as better than nikons equivlant and shoot almost as good the canon L version and its about $400 I think?

^ Those HAVE to be Internet prices!!!

I have the Canon 70-300 IS F4-5.6 lens and it was $649.99 from N. Tampa Photography...

If youre not in a "rush" to get the lens, I would definitely buy it off of the Internet!!! ~> Either way, its an excellent lens for the Price!

Very True!!! I know Bob (on a Personal Level) that works there! On a side note, they are MORE than willing to go above and beyond "normal" customer service!!!

Thanks guys, yeah I'm using a Canon XTi what are reputable websites to get the lenses from?

B&H Photo Video | Digital Cameras, Camcorders (http://www.bhphotovideo.com)
Digital cameras, all other cameras and everything photographic from Adorama Camera (http://www.adorama.com)

There are others, but those are the main two. You won't find them much cheaper elsewhere. If you do try another site, research it on resellerratings.com first. If you don't, you'll regret it.

What do you guys have to say about this one?
I know it's cheaper than the Tamron's mentioned above, but I've always been told to stick with Canon if I can.
I know the lens is refurbished and that's probably why it's cheaper, but what isn't refurbished now a days anyways?

Nvm I read up on that lens I posted about, and it's not good.
But the

I'm a bit weary of Sigma4Less. They sold me my 10-20mm and it ended up having less warranty than it should've. Ultimately I guess it hasn't mattered.

Everyone else I know has only good things to say about them though... :dunno:

I never bought from them directly, but my 70-200 I have came from them. It has the warranty card for 4 or 5 years with it.

SOLD! SOLD! SOLD!
I have a Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Image Stabilizer for sale. It's in perfect condition. Comes with lens hood, UV lens filter, a circular polarizer, endcaps, owner’s manual and box. All for $250. It's about 2 months old.
