I NEED HELP HERE!
i have a 96 sl2 and for some reason by car isnt making enough power anymore, bogs, and cuts out if i try to get on it, or just cuts out around 3500 rpm. i have no idea whats wrong! ive changed every sensor on the engine! havent changed any tranny sensors though.
i did a auto-5 speed swap and ive got a auto and a 5 speed pcm and if i change them it still has the same problem.
ive changed the air intake temp, idle air control, both oxysen sensors, map sensor, crankshaft pos, knock, oil pressure sensor, coolant temp, injectors and fuel pressure regulator from the junk yard, fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, plug wires, coil packs and module. oil pressure and fuel pressure is good. from what i can see all wires are connected like they are supposed to be. im out of ideas....so can anyone help out here?

first off you can run a 5 speed car with the auto pcm but you can't run a automatic car with the manual pcm. i have done the 5 speed car with the auto pcm to remove the standing rev limiter and to increase the speed limiter.
second there is not maf on a saturn. only a map sensor.
a few questions..
do you have a 5 speed or an automatic in the car now and which pcm is in the car now?
mileage?
has the fuel filter ever been changed on the car yet? it is located on the driverside firewall.
has the fuel pump ever been changed?
answer those question and then we can move on from there.

no ecm, no cat, and its gota 5-speed with a new auto pcm. fuel pump and filter have just been changed less than 500 miles ago. its got 134,000 miles on the car but its got a new re-built engine with about 600 miles on it.

might check the coil packs,plug wires,and plugs. it kind of sounds like it could be a weak spark since you did the fuel stuff already. just out of curiosity what kind of fuel pump did you use? i don't remember does the 96 have an adjustable fpr?

i changed all the ignitions stuff to. its just some random oem fuel pump from advance auto parts. and yes the fpr is adjustable. its got 40 lbs of fuel pressure at idle, idk what the fuel pressure is when its cutting out though

can i ask what you are doing with the car that you have changed all this stuff so recent? also who did the rebuild on the engine?is it a stock rebuild?

ive changed all that stuff BECAUSE of this problem. ive cbeen trying to figure it out for 2 weeks now. i did the re-build about 600 miles ago with stock parts.
it ran good for about 100 miles than started running shitty since

that could affect slightly it if its blocked and its not turned off in the computer, but not enough to do whats its doing now. its got a new egr on it. nice job running over a rock and breaking a hole in ur oil pan and running the car around with out oil btw dumbass! lol

It wouldn't affect it. The EGR wouldn't cause your car to be stuck at 3800 or w/e it's at.
And I didn't run it with no oil, i didn't know it was leaking.. And it wasn't coming out of the oil pan. Either way, that's pretty irrelevant.
Seriously though, get 4 more cylinders then come back and talk to me :roll:

just another fagit V8 kid that doesnt know what hes talkin about and thinks the bigger the engine the better, just for anyone wonderin when he first got his licence i was tryin to help him out and found a corola for sale and instead he bought a thunderbird and all he did was intake and exhaust and than traded that in for this trans am hes got now and all hes done is intake and exhaust again. he thinks its the best thing ever but he dont know shit about cars all he does is calls me or my friend to help him. ive never seen him do ANYTHING to it himself. and hes gonna try to help me on here HA!
like a month ago he called me over to take out fuckin spark plugs!
anyways i know EGR isnt the problem now stfu about it

oh and yes luis already told me all about u hitting a big ass rock, trying to GLUE it back together, and driving for about 1 and a half mins with no oil in it. although he said it should be fine. oh and btw its your rear main seal thats leaking right now not your nasty ass glue job on ur oil pan leaking.

First of all - it wasn't glue, it was JB weld. It held up fine.
Second of all - it's not my rear main, had that replaced a couple months ago.
Third of all - I don't see how what I had done to my first car is relevant -- it's not the one I have now.
Fourth of all - My car is faster than your car ever will be. So it doesn't matter what I have done to it.
Oh, and PS - I have more than intake and exhaust done :roll:
Worry about fixing your car that hasn't been running right/at all for 4+ months then you can talk about who the dumbass is. You drive a saturn, leave me alone lol.

today i replaced the FPR with a brand new 1 and replaced the whole wiring harness to the engine. runs better.....but still breaks up and sounds like a rev limiter at around 4500 rpm....

oh and it used to be auto so it had a auto wiring harness but when we swapped harnesses we put a mp3 harness in and now theres only 3 connectors on the pcm although theres room for 4. runs fine though....is it gonna be ok with 3 or am i missing something here?
