Default Civic Issues

Hey guys,

Ok here is the deal. I am doing a swamp for a customer, its a y8 head swap on a d15 block in a 95 civic Ex. (No, I have no ideal why they would want to do this, but they did.. so..)

I have changed all the normal BS, the fuel filter, the IAT sensor, etc

Right now it isn't throwing any codes on the scan, but its showing INF on rpms and the IAT is showing wonky readings, which is usually a sign it is bad. I just replaced it, about an hour ago.

The problem is this, It idles like junk.. very low, if you give it any fuel it will surge at around 1500 rpms and jump to 2000 then back down and sometimes try to cut out completly. It is showing the injector pulse width going to 0.00 when this happens, as if the injectors are shutting down. Also, the O2 sensor is reading very rich all the time.

Ive played heck getting a wiring diagram for the IAT, purge canister, etc (still looking) so I know at first they had the wires swapped, but not sure if we got em straight, though it seemed to have helped.

I have checked the timing, its TDC and the verticle and horizontal marks on the cam all line up...

The owner said it had been sitting with bad gas in it, so I put new gas and new plugs to be sure.

Any advice on why this might be happening and how to fix it would be wonderful, in alot of swaps this is the first time I have run into it, but also the first time I have done this particular swap (more familuar with the LS swap)

Thanks in advance, and appreciate the forums, I have found a ton of info here that has been very useful over time.

Kudos,

Well,

(puts on the pointy hat and holds up his Dumb-ass award)

i Kept noticing the map sensor was acting weird, and so was the rpms...

So I checked the wiring, and sure enough the map sensor and the throttle poistion sensor were the same harness, So... I swapped em and bingo, all seems to be working as per course.
