It's medium format, as btuner said it's not for your average sports photographer. The other thing to think about is that 39 megapixels is only twice the width and twice the height of your average 10 megapixel image. Does that make it work $33k?

looks like they just took a long light, like a long fluorescent bulb an just waved it around the car, would be pretty simple to do

it takes some sweet shots if thats how it looks but you can get the same type out of a 30d and some cs2 skills. Even if i hit the lotto id still stick with the xti and 40d and a few IS lenses. For some reason when i look at that car all i see is a a vett and g35 at some points. Dunno guess its just me tho

I got a 30d, im far from a baller anyway, its taken me a few years to get this far and all I have is a little backpack with some stuff in it still. You can always kill dave and take his camera
