So I got a chance to run a new Mustang GT tonight (beautiful car), it was bone stock. He wanted someone to run and I was like "Hey, I'll run you for $5 per race."

Ran from a dig, he got cocky and gave me a 2 car headstart and I pulled about 5-6 cars on him by the time I was to about 100mph.
After that he was saying how he didn't understand when we were supposed to go... Fine, we can run again but I'll need another $5

So I got my money.

Ran a 2nd time, had someone flag the race. I had a bad launch and only put 1/2 car on him til mid 2nd. Then I popped the rev limiter at the top of 2nd. Then stayed right on his bumper til around 110mph then we let off.

The car is bone stock and the guy was pretty upset that he pretty much lost to a Neon...

Does this sound right? I have a '96 DOHC 5spd with a mildly pnp'd intake manifold, iceman intake, 60mm tb, megan udp, mopar ecu and no weight reduction. Still have stock mounts & bobble strut (I know they need to be replaced). Just seems like I shouldn't be able to run with one of these things...

Well dang... It happened, don't really know what to tell you guys. There were plenty of people out there, just don't think any of them are on here. He had TCS, so that shoulda helped him with driving a bit.

It's not the first GT I've ran, the other race was pretty much the same as this one.

 

^ traction control would actually make him slower from a dig which explains why you pulled him at first. The new ones arent that quick unless they are modded...its 300 HP to the crank and a 13.5 time stock...but those things are tanks.. So im sure at the track with his TCS off it would be a different story
