Get Ready for the muddy Meyhem, April Showers may bring May flowers, but it also brings out the powerslide fun. Once East Bay Confirms the date I'll open up online registration.
$35 if you register online, and $40 at the gate. but PLEASE email me if you intend on arriving at the gate so I can have your information pre-loaded in the database to help us get started quickly, I waited an extra hour last event for some people that "said" they were coming and never showed up. so everyone got 7 instead of 9 runs.. this time we are not waiting. registration will close at 9:00 AM and Drivers meeting at 9:30.

Hey Jerm, I have a request Florida Motorsports Report is looking for someone to film the event. and do an interview or two, do you have any video equipment? I can help with the interview portions. they are going to try and come out, but might not make it. and want to know if we have a backup.

Jeff,
I have a friend that used to run a production company. I can see if he is free that weekend and would be able to come out and do some filming.

I'll be there as long as nothing else breaks on my car in the next week... Over the last week i've had a knock sensor and coolant temp sensor die, then an intercooler pipe burst. Blah. I was out at that brooksville race in the white old subaru legacy. I'm holding off on preregistering online just in case it breaks again.

Yeah I just started throwing 02 sensor code and Misfire (bad coil pack, plugs and/or wires). LOL
Im going to try and fix all before the race, if not.. She runs anyway. lol

Jeff a lot of people are asking me when the spectators should show up.
- Mike
treekiller
04-10-2008, 02:30 PM
They can come and go as they please, it's only $3 and they have to sign the waver. I really don't enforce the spectator pricing. but I'm going to begin since we had a ton last event and only one paid. if you guys want to run registration. (collect money as people enter the gate and hand them a number card) that will be a huge help since that's usually one thing that holds me up int he morning from getting started is waiting for everyone. to register.

Jeff,
I will be bringing at least 5 people with me in the morning so I promise between all of us I will make sure everyone is helping you in someway. As for the registration/paying people myself or Fiance will be there to help do that.
Let me know if you need more hands on deck, I have a ton of people who e-mailed me off our website that are coming out to the event to see us race, they have also expressed intrest in helping the event anyway possible.

Preregistration is open online till 10:00 PM Saturday. so feel free to go there and do it.

Registered. I'll see you guys out there :)
Does anyone have a course layout designed yet? Is it on the oval inside the track or in the parking lot? I've seen pictures of past events and I can't really tell where its happening exactly...
treekiller
04-11-2008, 03:54 PM
well I am plaining for possible rain so we are setting up the course in the grass parking lot. we run both sections when there is no chance of rain but with a chance of rain in the PM. I'd rather not tear down the course mid day in the rain and have to re-do it.
it's going to be cool (in the 70's) so the turbos are going to be making LOTS of power.

If you guys all show up at 8:00 I figure everyone can get a few laps on the rallycross in and then you guys can break off get suited up and strat working on lapping the track. did you get a get and belts in it yet? or rollbar padding? I'd like to see those items installed for testing since you are going to be lapping as speed, I can show you the line around the track. it's not hard to figure out since the dirtstocks will be running tonight and you'll have a nice groove to follow.

I have only done some work on the eletric side.
I have not ordered padding or the harness mounts. The only Place I know that carries them is over in St Pete and i have not been home during the week to get over there.
Ill go look at the harness and see what is included in the box.
Ill be home after April 27th to go grab that stuff if its still needed.
I dont think any place is open on a Sat to get the harness mounts.

Just FYI, while we run in Rain, or Sleet, or dead of night. if there is lightning we may have to pull the corner workers. while we can still run for fun when it's we can't have "official" timed runs, without workers, since no-one can call in off-courses.
but if it's a mild rain.. NICE!!!!
Rain + Grass/Dirt + Cool Weather = Badass Event!!!!
Great Work Barry!!! I'll see if I can steal a pool Noodle from the Bath house in my building, I'm only worried about the one cross bar next to your helmet. well that and the cage needs gusseting, not for legality, for my feelings. but we will get to that later.

no reason to show up too early since the gates are usually locked before 8 and I rely on a track employee to let me in.

thanks for the video mars. but I can honestly say your pictures rock 100x more
hey barry, can you port those videos to a format that is actually accepted by the computing world. Windows media hasn't released a codec update for mac in 2 years.
I guess I could upload them to Google video and let them do it, but I'm not going to out of principal. windows media... BLOWS.... but then again so does 90% of what comes out of Redmond

There is something sexy about the original Impreza they just have not captured in the modern cars. while they have gotten better it's a lot like the original M3 the newer versions just miss the original Boy racer "I'm gonna tear your face off" look.

I think its more the JDM look they have. They look very JDM, where as the new ones arent anything special anymore. When is the next event? I hope its on a day there nothing something else going on at the same time. I wanna stick around for a whole event for once and do some ride alongs for once

Couldnt agree more!!!! And I think Mars is right, the car more resembles its Japan brother. Even when it came out in the states it didnt look like anything else out there at that time.
When I go in the garage I look at the STi and say looks good, but then look over and the RS kinda takes my breath away. Even the pics of the RS just look amazing and my Sti looks like a car drving on dirt. lol

well the 93-96 were very typical of what was around at the time, or at least the ones we got, softer edges, could have been confused for a Toyota if you looked at it quickly enough.. it was not until the 2.5 RS came to the party with it's shopping cart (in 1998 standards) rear wing and Ridiculous Hood that the car even got a second look. then in 1999 when the Front air dam from the STI cars made it onto the 2.5RS it truly became quite a looker. which amazes me, put a big wing, a hood scoop and vents, and a low front air dam on most cars and I would comment about how you must have ran through pep boys with a crap magnet. But in the RS it just looks right, so complete, so sorted. dare I say only the 22B looks better.
