I have a 95 honda accord i was wondering would it be best to put a 2 12 box or should i take the back seats out and build a wall and let the subs sit mid air with the trunk as the box..has anyone one ever done this before or or does anyone have any advice..i dont want to go through all the trouble if its not going to sound good...

boxes result in more cabin gain, but a wall will net you more space.

So if you only have two 12s, a box will be louder but if you have 4 12s a wall will net you the airspace you need to run the subs at spec.

ok..so then a box would be the best route to go then...thanks for the info..naw im only running k2 12s but then again i can fit 2 15s if i make the wall. im just trying to see whats the best route to go.

If you did a wall like they should be done, basically make a wall the rear of the car all enclosed, not open like you say... that will be louder.

It might be louder on the meter, but the low end response will suffer from the lack of cabin space.

Idk I know some walls that absolutley destroy the lows.

i know for a fact that i can not fit 2 15 btls in the back of the car comfortably thats why i was thinking of builind a wall....but im not sure if it will work or not so i might stick with a box with 2 12s to avoid the hastle.

I think you're confused (atleast from the sounds of it)...most walls are still an enclosure. The subs are not just mounted in a sheet of MDF...open to the rest of your vehicle on the other side. People use walls to gain maximum enclosure volume, which is why you mainly see in in systems with many subs, and they're usually always going for spl and nothing more.

A wall is impracticle for most daily drivers. You can't see out the back, you lose all your cargo space, and you have a blaring subwoofer 6" from your head.

Most people don't realize they could probably invest into something simple like a GOOD single sub, the right size amp, and the right custom box and be plenty loud. Then again, some people just cannot grasp the concept that more (or bigger) is not always better.

^^^^ha ha ha good one...naw its kool i was not thinking of wall as in from the roof to the floor of the car i was going to have one coming down from where the 6x9s usually are and then maybe about the the bottom of the back seats..somthing like that in an angle but were i can still see out the back but have the right amount of space for the subs..

No, it's more of less they have gone through about the best subs, or don't want to spend the money for the best subs. And they crave louder, and a wall is ultimatley that solution.

You could do 2 15s, build the box inside the car, fiberglass the front to seal it and fiberglass teh amps in the back... I only say this because I know you wanted a showcar.

question i dont know if i missed this is it a 2 dr car or 4dr? 2dr would sound better in a wall then i 4dr car will.. because it more space to move threw.
