>>>>>Cliff notes at bottom<<<<<<<<

It was some time after 3pm on Thursday February 28 when I received word, from a newly found acquaintance on an auto enthusiast website, that I had some how stumbled across the right credentials for free admittance to what was billed to be the biggest thing since sliced bread by local radio stations and print media.

Fuck it, this takes too long raw information is just quicker sometimes: There were 854985920436 idiots there, Some asshole almost backed into me in the staging lanes, I got four runs in 5 hours and didn't hook once!

To say the track was over crowded would be be like saying, "Brain Cancer is a minor health issue". Although the track crew worked their hardest and did a reasonably good job of controlling the overflowing masses of retards out in their 84' Chevy Astro-Van's and 97' Ford Rangers and 19 second road monsters all hoping for that illusive and glorious 18 second pass, there would be no stopping the 400 car pile up that racers called the staging lanes.

Don't get me wrong, I think it is good for drag racing that there is so much interest in the sport from youth crowd. The problem is there needs to be a cutoff point where you say, "THIS CAR IS TOO GO**AMN SLOW TO DRAG RACE". Hell, my car isn't that fast and I want to include people who want to race but I figure if you can't do better than a 16 second 1/4 mile you have no business on a race track. That rule alone would have reduced the field by 70%.

>>>>>Race info>>>>>

The only real race I had was against a yellow sentra with a big-ass tubro. I literally spun all the way thru second from the all the bullshit on the track, then proceeded to make up 4 cars and win by .014.

The best run of the day was a 2.2 60' Yes, I hook on the street all gears but the track wouldn't let me hook for shit. 12.9@111, with a 1.9 60' (which is what I usually pull) I think 12.5-6 is what I'm looking at.

All in all it wasn't a bad deal, the excellent promotion of the event worked bad for racing, but I'm sure the car show/party crowd enjoyed themselves and the track not hooking was probably more to keep the ricers from blowing there trannys up and holding the line up worse.

If you are or know the owner of the yellow sentra, good run, I was going to try to pull over and chat with you but there was literally nowhere to go so I left.

Anyone else that went by all means post up what your experiences were.

I dont understand why anyone with a 16 second car would EVER drag race, my old accord could have easily pulled off a low 15.. I didnt race it though.

i was really thinking of bringing my car out to get some base line runs but then i remembered what "club 1320" was like and figured it would be about the same. So I just stayed home and watched a movie with the wife.

you must have been the blue z28? yea that was the worst run of the night for me. the track just got worse and worse. me and my buddy had the first runs on the track that night (i went 13.1 @ 108 with a horrible 2.2 60ft), but after that just kept spinning goin into 3rd. nice run, i think i went 13.8 that run lol. whats done to the car?

That was a good run, well besides the track... not bmp's fault at all just way to many people. That run my 60' foot was like 2.48 and I ran a 13.5 @109
Very very close run, what size turbo and what boost are you running?

I think with a decent track and an avg 60' I would have went 12.6 or quicker.

Have you ran it there before? Do they have any better days to get like 10 solid runs in when the track is prepped well?

yea its an SC61 on 8 psi. not tryin to get to crazy w/ the boost until i get the new motor in. ive ran it there before but the best 60ft ive done is like a 1.9 on DR's. thursday night test and tune is the best time to go. they prep the track well and you can get a lot more runs in. whats done to the z28?

That shit was packed. I decided to go with a group of buddies so it wasnt to bad. The staging lanes looked like I4 backed up for a few miles... I got 3 runs in.... and I couldnt hook to save my life.... I'm also thiking of going back on thursday... but thats about a half tank of gas (round trip)

Specvser04, I think I saw you while I was there in the staging lanes... does your car have the turbo that looks like it pops out of the engine bay?

I', aiming for 12.9s or lower stock as it sits. My crappy ass tires will probably prevent that from happening though.

get some mickeys on there, and i dont doubt youll get it in good wx.

Spec-v- dont go uppin' the boost on me or ill have no chance:nerd: that turbo is large, a lot of ls1 guys are running 60-1 making ~450-500 whp @ 12 psi or less. How are you combatting lag?

the lag isnt too bad at all. its a pretty big 4cyl. im spooled by 3k or so. its not goin over 8psi until the new motor lol. 135k miles w/ stock bottom end is a lot and im not tryin to blow it up yet lol:lol:

riverview. My buddy will be bringing his blacked out 00 z28 as well. He has a couple small mods done while I am stock. Its going to be a good grudge match. I am just worried about my junk tires. I was driving down a road the other day at about 30mph in first gear and just nailed the throttle and the ass end slipped out fast. I had to get out of it in a hurry. This car is stock and shouldn't be spinning them that hard. Oh well we will see what happens thursday.. i cant wait.

Yeah, I suppose its possible....But with the limitations of the stock 10 bolt rear and stock clutch I don't think I'll be seeing 11's. I would be totally happy with a 1.9 60' and 12.5x@ 111-2.

Boostin, I am trying to get a buddy of mine to come down too for some grudge runs.....He has a 99 T/A with about the same mods as me, but a ls7 clutch and 315 nittos on the rear.....Hopefully I can convince him to go.
