Lately while listening to music, i've noticed that if i leave my sw output at -3 it sounds like there is noooo bass. if i turn it up to -2 then crank the volume to about 40-something, i hear the bass, then all of a sudden there is a LOT of bass, then i can turn the volume back down and everything is back to normal.
i've wiggled all of the cords and nothing makes a difference
im thinking there is something wrong with my amp and something with power saving/output?

im a n00b with car stereo

any suggestions?

what is 'signal sense' mode?

thanks, i'll check that wire. should i wiggle it while the stereo is on to see a difference or something?

Signal sense mode is basically where your amp turns on / off from the 'Signal' it received from the headunit and not the remote turn on wire. Hence the reason why when you turn up the volume why up, the amp kicks on (or ungates the volume, however you wanna say it :P )

Make sure your amp has a remote turn on wire connected to it. If not, connect one up and report.

Just check for a solid +12v supply using a dvm. You may also want to use a small relay to load test it, Ive found that sometimes a bad remote output will show 12v when theres no load but will drop to 3 volts or so when load is put on it.
