i took my old eclipse one to a shop in plant city, same problem. ended up it would have been cheaper for me to buy a new one than replace the motor that works the cd/dvd drive, he was a nice guy and called me to tell me that and didn't fix it. sold it a week later

A dual deck couldnt retail for more than $300 - it will cost at least 2/3 of that to fix + the parts.

yea id just buy a new one,not to be mr. dickhead but thats what happens with you buy a cheap tv,i've sold/installed tons of dual/jensen/phase linner tvs and most of them have had something wrong after a few months of use(cd not ejecting, screen not folding in/out,ect...)but most people look at the duals and other cheap ones for 3-400,then they see the alpines/pioneers for 1k plus and figure why spend that much when they can spend 300 and get what seems to be the same thing..ive had maybe three high end screens with problems....

my old one that was fucked could have been replaced online for the replacement cost and it was dvd/mp3/nav... you get the idea but it would have been a cheeper brand. it cost to much to repair them unless you can do it yourself. i'm back to the stock radio in my gs to give you an idea of reapair cost. (probaly will not help but o well)

thats bro. i guess its better to get warrenty wit these muther fuckers huh.
Here's the sad thing, when we send off a Dual unit for warranty, our distributor sends out a new unit up front. Turns out Dual doesn't even repair their systems-they just wholesale them to a refurbishing company in China who apparently repairs and rebadges them and resells them on the internet on the black market-they don't even carry an authorized refurbished line in house themselves! I have had my share of failures on these listed cheapies. I try to talk the customer into at least a JVC (only $100 difference and 100 times better quality/screen size). We sell these Duals for like $425 carryout. One out of 8 or so come back. JVC sells for $525-I have NEVER warrantied one out. Same with the flip outs although price difference is a little wider. You get what you pay for though...
