Swap veterans need your help....
Hey fellas, i'm reaching out for help.
I'm planning on swapping a S14 SR into my 240 (duh) this spring, but i'm wanting to keep it as close to base as i can. i.e. Keeping the SMIC for a while etc. No fancy bolt on parts right away.
I was hoping you fellow veterans could help me make up a list of parts i absolutely need along with the motorset.
So far, i've got the Walbro 255lph on the list and exhaust. But is there really anything else i'm going to need right away to get the swap up and running besides getting the wiring harness done (I was thinking contacting Durdan for this) and messing with the radiator hoses. (Different lengths from what i've seen)
Thanks for any help you guys can contribute!

correct. take your harness and get it done by durdan. if you want to make sure you have all parts needed, you should just buy a front clip and when your done using all your parts off the clip, sell the clip to someone wanting to go RHD.
you just told him to blow money away
downpipe, unless you want to use the stock one.
might as well replace the front and rear main oil seals, save the trouble later.
drive belts. (not really necessary)
count on replacing the clutch, unless the one you get is near perfect.
coolant.
oil
oil filter
gear oil
clamps
hammer out the oil pan. if it doesnt look dented in, it probabaly still is.

^ tim has most of it right. you want to get the maintenance items done, and all of that stuff he mentioned is less than $100 really (except the clutch).
also do the fuel filter as well.
spark plugs
air filter (obviously)
and you might want to check over the coolant hoses and vacuum lines, especially inside the intake runners and in hard to reach areas, will make things alot nicer when you don't have to crawl your hands in there later on.
and if you do the clutch, definitely do the pilot bushing, throwout bearing, fork pivot, and probably a new clutch slave (i'd opt for a stainless clutch line since it's only like $20). just some stuff you won't have to bother with later.
oh and engine mounts if yours are bad. thats one thing i would get out of the way.

replace the coolant line going to the turbine. im not sure if it's different on s14 sr's, but it's not fun when that hose breaks and you have to try to squeeze your hand in between the motor and the firewall.
