I'm pretty certain FAST has loaner helmets you can borrow.

Time to try again- just signed up for this event. I missed the auto-x novice school because my car popped a heater hose. Now I've got all new hoses and I fixed a knock sensor wiring fault that was costing me 15-20 lb-ft torque across the entire rev range. Thanks again to FAST for being so kind as to credit me back the fee for the school- I probably wouldn't be able to afford it without that. :) From reading the MAE page I understand that they're no longer doing that, so I got lucky there. 70 bucks is a lot to a college student.

Got your entry.

Event credit's been tightened up, but not eliminated. The old policy was if you didn't show up for any reason -- could be you just didn't feel like getting up that morning -- we put you down on a list for event credit. One of the items the airport really hammered us on was cutting down on no-shows -- one of the reasons we went to pre-pay. So now, if you cancel your entry before pre-registration ends (opens a space for someone else, and means we're not sending your name to the airport security folks), we'll still give you an event credit. After that, you're on the list and have bought yourself an entry whether you show up or not. Of course, if you have a really good excuse -- death, car exploding in flames the night before, or something similar -- contact us, and we'll look giving you credit anyhow. Our goal is to continue putting on top-notch events.

I have sent my registration fee and should be entered for this event. This will be my first event in about 2 years, cannot wait to go rip some rubber :)

Good thing, too. Pre-registration is now full. If anyone cancels before the month, we'll try and get word out, but those who didn't make it in time, your best bet is to keep an eye on the entry list -- we do not maintain a waiting list.
