Registration is open for the February 23rd/24th SCCA autocross at Brooksville! 2/23 will be a practice day (more casual, usually 8-10 runs), and 2/24 is the event day.
Registration closes at midnight on February 13th, so get your registration in before then! Register here: 2008 Central Florida Solo II Schedule (http://www.cfrsolo2.com/schedule.php)
Please note that ALL DRIVERS AND GUESTS MUST PRE-REGISTER TO BE ON THE ACCESS LIST to be admitted to the Brooksville site! Even children! You WILL be turned away at the gate if you are not on the list.
A note on the new pricing structure - SCCA events are now $40 for non-members, and $25 for members. HOWEVER - that $40 includes a temporary membership! So if you come to the practice day on Saturday and pay $40, you will only pay $25 at the event on Sunday! It actually works out to be $5 CHEAPER than with the old pricing of $35/day.

Is this somethin any random noob can get into. I'd like to come out but I dont want to make an ass out of myself lol. And isn't it at the hernando airport at 41 and spring hill drive? I live like 3 minutes away lol.
Just sign up on the link above and come out. We have novice instruction all day, so you don't have to worry about not knowing what to do. An experienced person will do a group walkthrough of the course in the morning and explain everything. Then you can have instructors ride with you, or you can ride with them, or they can drive your car. Just make sure you sign up in the Novice group the morning of the event, so people know you might need help.

What Jeremy said...but the airport entrance you'll need to use is Runway Drive, across from Suncoast Plastics. Same entrance the motor home club uses. And you must sign up on the website first, because the club has to turn in an access list to the airport -- that's true for all events at Brooksville.

The site says i need a member number. How do i get it? I registered just cant figure out how to get my member number so i can register for the practice!
You don't need a member number. Just put a dot next to the days you want to attend and hit the button that says Press to Register. As long as your name is on the list, you are fine. If you don't know how to fill in one of the fields, just leave it blank.

Everytime I do it the next page pops up and says
Drivers must fill in all the fields, press the Back button to try again
Return to the Schedule
Return to the Home Page
Just put "na" or something in the fields.

Only 2 days left to register!
Only about 40 drivers registered so far... Looks like we'll get lots of runs.

ok i registered, i put na for class and scca number, but i read the riles and it says you must have your number and class visible on the car at all times. is that something they provide for me or do i have to get it myself
They might have blue painters tape for you to use and/or buy. I believe they charge $5 a roll. If your car is blue, I would go to home depot and get your own in a different color. You'll be in the novice class, so you just need an "N" on your car and you will get a number the day of the event. It will be 6XX something for novices.

I'm just gonna do the practice. Cuz I know theres no way in hell i can compete im a big NOOB.
Competition days aren't really any different than practice days, except we have a trophy presentation at the end of the event.

Great day of racing today with many, many runs and all kinds of weather. My 3 buds and I in ESP all were within .3 seconds of each other. That was a blast!

X2! A very good time and a LOT of runs! Got to say I preferred the afternoon dry track vs. morning monsoon!

Here's video of one of the 'dry runs.' Getting the feel of it but still leaving a fair bit of time on the course. I think I will start handing out ear plugs to the starters:-o
