I'm currently looking at these two double din units and I'm looking for any personal experience or suggestions on either. The both seem to offer more than what I'm looking for while still covering the basics. On eBay the prices are very similar ranging for $660 shipped for either unit. Throw in the ipod cables, mounting hardware, ebrake bypass (or simple grounding) and its comparable. So as it sits, price isn't a determining factor. My first instinct based on goolging reviews is to go with the Alpine. Also I've had a better personal experience with Alpine units in the past but that was back in 1998. I like the mounted look slightly better of the Kenwood however again, shouldn't be a determining factor. Ideally I want function over fashion. I'm not 100% educated on Kenwood GPS software/ad-ons however Alpine's ability to add the Blackbird GPS unit right into the Alpine deck and see all of it directly on the Alpine's 6.5 screen is a pretty nice feature.
So long story short, looking to get some opinions/input/etc. I plan to driving down to Sound Advice and other local shops to check out the units in person. Thanks in advance.
