My wife's sister needs the waterpump changed in her cavalier, know of anyone that can do it for a reasonable price? It is a 2.4 by the way, so I understand it is a little bit of a pain, otherwise I would do it.

It's a 2.4 liter, not sure if it is ecotec, did they have that in 1997?

thats the dohc 2.4l iirc. and yes its a pain in the ass. I think you have to go all the way down past the timing cover to get to that pump. No easy task by anymeans. its going to cost her some coin no way around it.

okay thats 2.4 quad cam you guys are talking about it. Yes thats a pain by the looks and ive never done it unless the engine was outta the car. even then its a pain. From the book at the shop, some models, you dont need to pull timing cover, I think its the earlier ones. The later ones like that you have pull the cover to make sure its linedup right when you slip the pump in. I think you gotta pull the exhaust manifold and stuff to gt easier access to it all.

That seems to match what I thought, hence the reason I don't want to touch it. Know of anyone close to Seffner/Brandon with good rates?
