I know it doesn't have to do with paint but i don't know where to post this. My windshield was damages by a gate at my work. They are refusing to pay for it. I have been in contact with there insurance and they said that since there was no witnesses they will not fix my windshield. There are 3 camera's on the exit, but they said that the camera's were under repair. But they will not product a work order for any of them. I don't know what else to do they are being dicks. I have heard that i can get my insurance to replace it for free? Without having a clam on them record. Is this right? Also how much would it be for me to just pay for it out right? thanks guys for your help.

Hey neighbor, mine was replaced for free when I called Safelite Auto Glass and told them that when I drive in the sun the rock chips are annoying...they said no problem we can run that through your insurance.
So yeah they should replace yours for free. Call safelite or a glass company and have them take care of your insureance company for you. One call to the glass company and I was good to go, I gave them my insurance info they came out to my work, did the swap.. I signed for it and they were on their way and I had new glass in the WRX.
EDIT: there is some law in FL where if you have full coverage your winshield can be replaced or repaired at no cost to you. I don't *think* it looks bad on your insurance record as it wasn't a moving violation, more like a comp claim..

I was thinking about sueing them, but it would cost me more than just to replace it in the first place. I know someone needs to teach them a lesson, but i don't have the money to be that person.

thanks for the info i will check them out.
Safelite is your best bet. Or you could always try Lloyd's Auto Glass...you get a free box of steaks!
Insurance will pay for it if you have Comprehensive covg. No deductible applies for the windshield. If you don't have Comp, then insurance won't cover it.

^^^ yes this is true.
You MUST have Comprehensive..............
But, there is something in the Ins world called a clue report. This tells other insurance companies if you have had any claims paid out on your behalf. This can make rates higher if you try and get insurance with another company.
